I'd recommend the following chiptune promotion channel (though it's not very active lately): https://www.youtube.com/user/ReclusiveLemming

Maybe I'm disillusioned but from what I've seen hype + hardware + taking money early = a pretty bad experience. I guess time will tell. I too am interested in this device, but only passively until I can buy one on amazon.

There are plenty of (p)reviews on YouTube.

I wasn't planning on getting a fancy smartphone because I don't have the money, but this thing seems really worth it. I'll just have to wait until it goes on sale in my country and I'll get one if I have the money.

I used to go by the nickname Nightmare on 8bc (my first name is Cristian, and the last four letters read backwards spell like the word "night", so I instantly thought of "nightmare"). It sounded good at the time but it didn't fit the kind of music I wanted to make and it was a word that I thought was too common.

That's funny because my other music project is called NIGHTMARES, and "cube" was my original name on steam.

Cool. I was going to go with "Cube" but it's too common. Even the "qb" nickname is taken already from what I remember.

My current nickname is "qb". The spelling is supposed to be identical to the word "cube". It was inspired by a dream that I had of a large floating cube. It's one of my most memorable dreams from my childhood, but that original meaning doesn't inspire the music I make in general. I also like it for its simplicity and the two letters look identical but at the same time they seem to be polar opposites, kind of like men and women are (they are both part of the human species and they are different in many ways, but they go well together).

Don't put too much weight into what he's saying, especially not in part 2 of the interview.

Is there any place where I can read up on the whole cartridge drama? I briefly remember people talking about it on 8bc but I didn't pay much attention back then.

4mat makes most of his tracks in Fasttracker 2.

It seems a bit short compared to your other albums or I guess I expected a bit more. I gave it a full listen but I can't truly say what I think of it. You've made some improvements with this release but you've kind of spoiled it by releasing some of the better songs on YouTube (in my opinion).

I don't know what else to say. I don't think I like this better than "Sans Titre" but I will always appreciate a new release from you.

I'm not sure what to make of it. It's a bit strange even for me.

I'm also a bit confused. Who remixed who?

lol

The point is that seapunk basically existed for a long time and in my opinion shouldn't even be considered a genre.

I also think I've heard a Cosmic Baby song that sounded a bit like seapunk. I'm not sure which one it was.

I couldn't find a seapunk topic on this forum, but I thought this might be interesting. Cyborg Jeff made a seapunk sounding song in 2002 (date was written in the module).

What do you think? Does this count as seapunk?

Thanks for crashing the site.

If I remember correctly, your cover was the last thing that got uploaded before 8bc went down completely.

"Chipmusic sound is characterised by square wave ‘bleeps’"

Nope.

Basically all of the ones listed in the first and third post and some of the ones 4mat mentioned (I also like 4mat's SIDs) I don't really have favorite SID composers but more like favorite SID tracks.
