i don't really know jack about guitar pedals but i've messed around with multi-fx and loop pedals lately.

btw, what's actually distinctive about a guitar compressor? like in terms of threshold/ratio.

FL is still my fave
LSDJ is always fun though!

oh heck yes +1 for the OP-1. I've owned both LSDJ and an OP-1 for ages, but only recently got around to combining the two. I think i'm going to try and bust this combo out at the squaresounds pre-party

i'm more pop than punk, like more blink 182 than bad religion

actually i'm probably closer to ADTR than blink in style OH WELL

i have an actual 303 and the sequencer isn't all that bad. definitely convoluted, like having to set notes and articulation seperately n all that. don't see how touchpads are supposed to help but MIDI in and automated legato/porta is great (which is why i usually just use the phoscyon VST)

FWIW i often find that chipmusic prices are lowballed compared to collector prices. at least for dem gameboyz.

but then again a collector probably won't want a unit that's been modded and painted on.

For one Id love to see modeled drum machine that goes even farther than the tr/sampler/rompler paradigm and get really into physical drum modeling and drum synthesis for a new approach to synthesizer, but with that super assessable x0x interface.

like xoxos' modelled drum VSTs or microtonic in a groovebox with analog components?

i think i said this in the other thread about these, but i recommend getting d16's VST emulations instead. i mean, i own a tb-303 and still use phoscyon all the time cause it sounds great and is easier to set up and sequence than the real deal.

e: the vt-3 is pretty cool though!

scooping mids means taking away midrange frequencies, usually over a wide band rather than little notches. really important for a cleaner sound, makes bass and highs sound louder without actually boosting anything! and a mono mix is important so that you sound more or less the same anywhere in the room, but i think with some places/techies (mainly more professional ones) you can get away with some stereo.

also re: EQing a DMG, i always take out that 9.25Khz ringing in recordings but i don't know how important it is live.

On a slightly related note, I once test-fitted the select/start buttons from one of these in the DMG. They looked like they would fit if trimmed down only a little tiny bit! However, modding stock start/select pads to work with them would be a challenge... Food for thought anyway.

playstation/dualshock buttons also work, just need to file out the button holes in the DMG and cut an extraneous tab off of the buttons to make them fit.
they look dumb at first cause they're much taller than DMG buttons, but they feel super nice and way more responsive

Should take your own advice, yo

ugh, you're totally right. i'm nobody, and i don't have the right to talk to anyone like that.

sorry about the outburst katsum, it was totally uncalled for!

sick, love that it's compatible with the VST (or rather, that the VST is compatible with it :v)

do people get a stiffy when they act pompous about the search function or something? i don't get it

Apparently you don't get a lot of things.

i don't get treating the search function like a font of knowledge. searching "dmg-07 sync" comes up with a bunch of threads that have nothing to do with it, the one that actually answers the question is at the very bottom, and there's no immediate indication (for a new user, at least) that it will even be helpful. if you didn't know that the 4-way link cable was a "DMG-07" you'd be totally fucked. but i guess it'd be their own stupid fault for not knowing things, huh?

also i don't get posting in threads that have already been answered just to berate the OP
also don't get being a jerk for the sake of it.
and what's the deal with airline food?

but i get stiffies
just not over myself and how smart i am for knowing about search functions and how much better i am than people who don't
