Sorry to bump this. Has anyone tried this with the Teensy LC?

I've been getting this error when compiling.

Error: lo register required -- `sub ip,#1'

I wanted to try it out since I had a Teensy LC on hand, but I got the error as well. This would be great for cutting cost, size, and parts down quite a bit, though. All you really need is a link cable and the mcu.

Tempted to pick up a 3.2, but it'd be great to see it working on the LC!

Edit: I have a curse where I post on a forum about a problem and fix it myself within 5 minutes. It's convenient but makes me look like an idiot tongue

It compiled fine using 48MHz (optimized) for CPU speed. Make sure you set your USB Type as MIDI as well!

edit edit: logic level shifter too

You're alive! Nice new stuff. I can really feel the love in your gameboys big_smile

I'm still too scared to drill holes for rca jacks. I've done it before and it always comes out fine but I can't help but cringe when I think about it.

Small update, everything moved to ebay.

Hey everyone, this is a quick review of a custom CGB I ordered from thnikk (with some pictures for accompaniment). I call it The Thunderbolt (at least for now) big_smile

thnikk was great to work with, guys. He gave an honest estimate of price and time first thing (both of which turned out to be exactly right), and I got it in the mail today, in under a week after completion (at most it was 4 days).

In terms of his work, the body of the CGB was in great condition; you could barely tell that it was used apart from some slight wear on the back sticker and the beginnings of the 'cartridge scars' every Game Boy will get over time. As you can tell from a couple of the pictures, there's a slight adhesive line on the screen along the right border; thnikk warned me from the start that something like that could happen while removing the frontlight from an SP for use in the CGB. I'm alright with it; I know how hard it can be to avoid leaving behind absolutely any adhesive, plus it doesn't obscure anything on the screen. And besides, what's a musical instrument without some character? wink

A bit of a happy accident with this unit is that the buttons glow slightly from the frontlight (which you may or may not be able to tell from the pictures; thnikk told me that he didn't intend or expect for that to happen). I'd say it was a favourable surprise. smile

But the real beauty is the pro-sound.

The pro-sound is FLAWLESS. I can't hear the SLIGHTEST bit of hum or crackle from the CGB when nothing is playing in LSDJ (or something is and there's silence); it's DEAD quiet. I can barely even tell it's on, to be honest. Just perfect for recording. Plus the location of the jack is perfect too; I can slip it into my pocket with my 'phones plugged in, and still be able to reach the Start button to start a song (I tend to do this when I'm working on a song and I have to move around and I want to keep the sound fresh in my mind). It's a tiny bit of an adjustment to work my hand around the headphones when they're plugged in, but it's just something to get used to; not bad at all.

Overall, I'm really impressed with thnikk's work and how he handles his business!

Clear black sold and greyboys moved to ebay.

I can attest to the quality of these. The screws are a little hard to get in initially since nothing is threaded (better that way) but they are super solid and have a nice feel to them. Everything fits together perfectly and even the link port cover fits snugly.

11/10 would buy every time heart

Ah you no ship to UK! I fancied the clear black one. You looking to ship that way in future?

I actually do if you ask, I just don't list it because the only way I could be consistent is by using flat rate (which is $25). I should be able to ship it for around $18 to the UK, but I'd have to check first. PM me if you're interested and we can work something out wink

I really should figure out international shipping...

I find biverted yellow easiest on the eyes and since it's black on yellow lowering the contrast is like lowering the brightness.

New DMG up! More info on the prosound switch can be found here. The prosound is pre-pot for anyone wondering.

Biverted red, pink, yellow, and white are my favourites. Everything else doesn't seem to have good enough contrast or is just painful to look at (which is why I'm not a fan of green).

thnikk I just finished an almost identical pinkboy about a week ago! Weird coincidence! ^__^ Mine doesn't have a prosound jack though.

It's a great color combo and looks a little better than a pink painted clearboy imo. Greyboys are definitely growing on me.

Nah that's cool. It is a pretty nice DMG. smile

indeed it is, thnikk has some good stuff no doubt smile

I am gaining cred! Thank you heart

I finally frontlit my color and... I don't really like how it came out. I do like how it (almost) matches my dmg though. I also like how the screen doesn't dim after a few minutes of use like my pocket and every pocket I've ever backlit.

Is anyone interested in an sp without a frontlight? I'm willing to get rid of it for $17 shipped to the US (or pm me to haggle).

Umm.. will you keep making them? Maybe it's better to imrprove my LSDj skills first and THEN buy a decent gameboy.
Also, what's the difference between internal and external prosound? I'd like to keep using my headphones but also my external soundcard so I can blast it through my speakers.

Yup, new ones should be up every two to three weeks. I also take custom orders so feel free to pm me if you have something in mind (which would be better anyway because I don't know how to set up international shipping on bigcartel).

Internal uses the stock headphone jack and external uses a second jack. You can see the difference by looking at the redboy (internal) and any of the others (all external). You would definitely want external.
