Well, that was flipping awesome. Great show, shame about the snow!
Sorry we had to leave early, it's a long drive and the snow was a concern.
Hopefully I'll have some material together for the next one

also whats the best controll over music I can get? Coming from LSDJ, is mssiah a let down?
MSSIAH is totally different to LSDJ. While LSDJ is a tracker, MSSIAH is more of a suite of software. The closest equivalent to the tracker in LSDJ is the Sequencer. This is more like the MIDI sequencers you see nowadays, with horizontal lanes, piano roll etc. I've not got into the details with the sequencer, but from what I've seen you can adjust everything and it does support things like tables (called wave tables in MSSIAH)
If you just want bass/leadlines, there's the Bassline which is modelled on the 303 step sequencer.
Myself, I prefer the Monosynth which I trigger from Cubase, live or from my RM1x.
Check out the docs : http://www.8bitventures.com/mssiah/manuals.php
Amiga 500s need to be modified for bi-norm, they don't come like that out of the box (they need minimum an ECS Agnus)
A1200s can switch, however, as you said, it's PAL60 or NTSC50... sometimes this brings compatibility issues.
Yeah, I checked my facts, most A500s in the UK were fat ones, so that's probably why I've never heard of problems.
Have you ever had the need to switch to NTSC for any software to run?
No, but there is a performance gain from running @ 60Hz, so alot of people did it as a way of overclocking the Amiga
Awol:
1)
It does. You want a PAL machine Nothing runs on NTSC, specially demos (some games do, though)
Really? I'm surprised ! I had a PAL machine and it ran NTSC fine (well, PAL60). How come the NTSC won't run PAL?
EDIT: Checked the facts. If it's a MK1 A500 then the Agnus is hard coded. For any models after that you can switch modes with a software preloader or with a hard mod (grounding a pin)
I wouldn't have thought there would be enough current either, especially on a laptop? But I guess you could use a powered hub to get around that!
1) Does the Amiga have NTSC vs PAL issues in terms of demo-watching, like the C64 does?
2) If I got a European Amiga, would it work with an American power supply? An American TV?
1) There are various apps out there to force 50hz or 60hz signal. If using RF, you would need a NTSC modulator. Otherwise, I'm not aware of any issues, the PAL and NTSC machines are virtually identical other than the default frequency.
2) No. You'd need to find a US PSU for it and a NTSC modulator. I think there is a way to get S-Video by modifying the modulator. Easier if it's a A500 w/ A520
EDIT : A520 S-Video Modification
EDIT : Or there's this DIY solution
Defo coming, just got permission to leave work an hour early - YEY!
Still have to bomb it home (and hour away) then on to Sheffield (another hour or so), so might not make it for doors.
Where's good to park guys?
Microsoft has made phones that play mp3s and videos for years.
This.

Google just announced they are dropping support for FTP in Blogger. Well done Google you idiots! Now I have to port all my blogs to Wordpress. Grrrr.
Have you tried this on a clear DMG ?
Good point muB, let's not foget that Microsoft and Google aren't exactly best buddies after the recent IE8 exploit :s
The LED on the Amiga keyboard flashes (when it has a Guru Meditation) via the magic of the NE555 timer
Some kind of electronic starter motor/timer for model rockets?
Guru Meditation
It's really not up to Google is it? They're stopping support for IE6 as they want to adapt HTML5 for their apps. Fair enough.
But it's the bluechips who are the problem. For them it's a multimillion expenditure to move internal systems from IE6 to a newer browser. That's why Microsoft themselves are still supporting IE6 and will be for quite a few years. MS make a lot of their money from the bluechips, so they're not going to upset them by dropping support and leaving them in the lurch with an unsupported platform. if they just dropped support like that, it woudl mean some businesses (such as FDA regulated companies) would have to cease trading.
The bluechips need to pull their fingers out and upgrade to Win7/IE8 which realisticly they won't do till SP1.
I know IE6 is a nightmare for web devs and designers, so i totally understand. But getting rid of IE6 just isn't viable yet.
Yeah, at least make a small attempt to locate the owner before making it your own property. There could be months of someones work on there!
THIS is this future! Do you understand?
