From what you've said, i think you're going about this the wrong way.  I think the Bassline is really meant to be step programmed and just run off midi sync. Give the Monosynth a go instead wink

I made a Cubase SX panel for MSSIAH Monosynth.  I'm sure it's only a matter of time till someone does one for Ableton.

If you're trying to trigger notes from your sequencer rather than triggering patterns in Bassline, you would be better using the Mono Synth module.

chiptune is the absolute least expensive music genre there is. i have friends who have literally FOUND all of their equipment, and soldered stuff together as they saw fit. other friends use 100% free trackers on old discarded laptops. and these are people who play TONS of shows and are well known.  i can do my entire set with 1 dmg, 1 lsdj cart, and 1 mic... ~$50?

Wise words!  Chiptune is definately affordable for everyone.

there is no cost correlation in music; expensive gear adds nothing.

But I have to disagree with you there.  While there is no substitute for a good song, melody and lyric writing, (possibly even more so in chipmusic), good equipment and the skills to use it bring alot to the table.

For music outside of chip and lofi, I'd say get the best money can buy.

Working hard, and not pissing my wages up the wall every Friday and Saturday night.  I've got a fair bit of gear now, but it's taken me years to accumulate.

Give it time and hard work and you'll have a decent rig before you know it (you will also be knocking on the door of 40 before you know it too!)

Resistance D - Unknown

One of the greatest trance/techno tracks ever. Only ever released as part of the Trance Europe Express 3 boxset (and the TEXtures spinoff)

Thanks Sycamore Drive.   No the song isn't staying like this, what you're listening to is just a live mix with me messing around.  I went back through to change the bassline and will next be chopping it up for vocal.  So the drum+bass bit will be the verse, the string bit will be chorus.  I will also be comign up with a bridge section.

Once the work on the vocal starts I'll be taking that link down as my vocalist doesn't like anyone hearing works in progress.  sad

The first version I uploaded I actually did in Q1 of 2009, so this is a nice opportunity to finish of what I started.

Thanks everyone for your feedback, this has really spurred me on.   I'll be sure to give you all a listen when it's finished. smile

Thanks Ant1 smile

I've just updated the link in the first post, this is the last version before the song get's rearranged for vocal, I finally got off my lazy ass and put the key change in for the bass, and rerecording the high arps from the C64.

Joycey is working on the vocal now, and from what I've heard it's gonna be pretty flipping good!  Now the PC is working again, I'm hoping we can get some rough takes done this weekend.   It depends though, Joycey is recording her next album so I'm not sure if she'll be focusing on that. :-s

People could easily say the original Amiga was developed by Amiga Corporation (which it was), until it was bought by Commodore.

And subsequently by Escom and Gateway. So there are some Amigas out there which are not Commodores. tongue

Believe it or not, I listen to my final mixes and masters in my jeep for every single track lol not a joke

All of the professional producers I know use their cars as an audition source during final mixdown.  I always listen to my mixdown in the car before I decide if it's good enough.  (also worth playing it mono too!)

It's amazing how different it sounds when played on the radio too, if only I could afford a broadcask compressor big_smile

MIDISPORTS ROCK!  I love my 2x2.  I'm on the hunt for another one, or a 4x4.....or a 8x8!

A 1212 too?  I used one on the Reborn track "Slug", a great bit of kit!

I've got the 1541U.  It's awesome, but a bit much if you only need to use normal file system.  I got it so I could play old fastloader games too big_smile

Worth looking out C64TPC if you want a nice cheap option.

It's easy to do with full edit, I accidently moved someone, but clicked "undo", which I hope worked :s

FF3.56 : never remembers me. I think the redirect is confusing things.  Anyone else getting this or is my FF FUBAR?
