Managed to fix my problem.

The tech docs say that the MIDI note controls are A# -1 up to B1, however, for some reason in Ableton I have to send the notes through an octave lower for the controls to work properly. Not sure if the discrepancy lies in the way I use Ableton (some transpose function is on?) or if the tech docs were simply rushed out there.

tl;dr in my version of Ableton (8.2.2) I had to voice the controls an extra  octave down, and everything fixed itself smile

I'm sure a few of you have your Chipmaestro's, and I haven't seen much said online about people who are currently using them. Perhaps a few of you who have one can step out of the shadows and help me out.

I'm having trouble getting my Chipmaestro to act in "tracker" mode (as the tech notes call it) http://www.soniktech.com/chipmaestro/Ch … chDocs.txt when I am plugged up to Ableton live via a MIDI USB interface. I know for a fact that Live is sending signal correctly through the adapter, as it works fine with the Yamaha DX-7 at school. I've emailed Jarek and I have yet to hear back from him.

Despite being unable to get my full 4-channel goodness playing, I have managed to get a pulse channel to play with mild degrees of success. It treats "chords" in the piano roll as arpeggios to blitz through, meaning there is a chance my unit is in "instrument" mode, which is not friendly to sequencing but rather suited for live playing.

If anyone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it. I've been trying to make a MIDI Instrument rack for the Chipmaestro in Ableton Live 8.2.2 so we have an equivalent to what we had with MIDINES. Assuming I can get something USABLE slapped together I'd love to share it! smile

Love the organ.

The milk crates and the whatever that is...this is how it should be done.

Milkcrates are just so convenient for me - stackable and rearranglable cubbies that let me thread wires through them. Easy to get when you are in college wink

How does that bad boy sound? I've become a Hammond snob, but those kimballs turn up too often not to look at. Do you have a service manual for it? I may be able to get you one if you don't.

I don't have one, but I would love to have a service manual. This thing sounds SUPER fat for what it is (a simple house organ). I've already messed around using it with my Chipmaestro and Ableton. Something will be recorded and shared, it'll be so triangle wave-y you will cry.

What's the deal with kitsch and asm not even being on his vendor list anymore?

I think that they served as mass distributors, not manufacturers. If we see another huge batch, they may return to the list. I know that both kitsch and ASM *should* currently be out of stock of DnDs...

Traktor Z1 USB Mixer/ Sound card - handles all of my PC-related audio

How do you use it? Just as soundcard? I'm thinking of buying this to use with maschine as a soundcard / controller, so i would be interested to hear some feedback of using it with laptop.

Super easy to use, USB powered, easy to configure and use with WIndows. Knobs and buttons are sensitive but can take a beating. I throw it in my bag with my MIDI Fighter Classic every day before school so I can easily work on music wherever there is a table (my headphone jack on the laptop is broken, which is part of why I got the Z1). I paid $200, and it sounds super great, audibly clearer than my little laptop (before the headphone jack broke). smile Hope that helps.

It times out on that too.

EDIT FOR CLARITY: It Erases up to 100% then says it timed out. It has done this the past 7 or so times I have tried this on the various ASM flash carts I have.

My programmer isn't really able to flash my carts with new ROMs. Getting a timeout error. Can you give me any tips for writing, say, the Apeshit MBC5 cart? Trying not to panic.

Just curious - online I thought it showed once (on bandcamp?) that you lived near Mobile, Alabama. Was that accurate? If that was the case, I'm pretty sure you were the only one there.

I've needed this for like 3 months. Cannot wait...

Gameboy should be lower mids, vocals upper mids, bass in the bass and guitars can sit between Gameboy and voice as well as between Gameboy and bass. That's what I've found I can do with my buds when we once tried to do a band setup.
