generally i'd just punch it into google OR give the manual a read. not all that many tutorials I know of when it comes to FTII. however, if you're looking to work with the XM format, i'd just go ahead and use the modern equivalent, OpenMPT, especially if you're running a Windows computer.

well then it's probably just rtpmidi being horrible as usual - last time i tried using it i had about the same problem. suggest you just get a 20pin -> midi adapter, well worth it if you want to work with something like Animoog

i ran it on an ipt3g and it tends to lag like hell, especially when using wireless MIDI.

oh, also, rtpmidi sucks, just get some dosh and get the wired connector. that's probably your main issue.
