The 16-year-old kind who earns 20$ every two weeks. XD

Crap. My 1/8" cable broke. I already had a new one on the way(thank goodness), but I'll have to wait until it arrives to record. sad

I don't know... I am still kinda new to the scene (started looking at chiptune stuff a year ago), but I get fairly annoyed by people who make chiptunes to be cool. It is an art medium through which you can express emotion which you otherwise would not be able to communicate to someone else properly. The cool chippy sound that has defined the genre merely helps many people recapture some of their childhood and lets them drift off into nostalgic fantasies. I guess what I am saying is that, if you truly love and understand chiptunes, then you should at least feel that there is something more to it than just simple bleeps and bloops...

This.

In all seriousness, though, I'm even newer to the chipmusic scene, and already I've seen some extreme diversity within the "genre" chipmusic. Saying all chipmusic is the same is like saying all music that uses a synthesizer prominently is the same. To some it is, to some people, it all does sound the same, because they either don't care or are too set in their ways to really listen to it and hear the subtle differences that everyone has. And everyone will have a difference between their music and another person's, even if their just trying to emulate someone. It's the nature of the media with which we work.
It's how music works.

Yeah. I honestly don't have much experience making music on an actual gameboy, which one of my many problems.
As far as trackers go, I have a little experience, but I honestly haven't been able to think of any original melodies when I use trackers. The visual aspect of nanoloop just works better for me. I think if I thought of my stuff in nanoloop and then used LSDJ to write it all out, it would work better.
Anyway, good stuff, man. I like your songs. Sorry I broke your brain with my randomized pitch envelope. XD

Mine aren't coming out right. I took the same gif and added text 3 times, and each time when it opened up, it was just a little white square with a red x. sad The first time I added the lyrics to almost an entire song in there, the second time was just random text, and then the third was, like, 5 characters at a time, and very far between. What am I doing wrong?

Sorry my rebuttal track has taken so long, the batteries in my DMG died. I'll try to whip something up in famitracker and post it by tomorrow. hmm

I'll participate. I need more tracker practice. big_smile
