hey, guys, the plural of vinyl is still vinyl. it's like fish or deer. it's a material. if you need to put an s on the end of something, use the word records.

how long have you been making music for?
i think inspiration comes in waves. i can relate to getting inspired with a new program and writing a song. maybe a new program would work, just don't spend all your money.
there are different ways to approach writing songs. aside from types of equipment.. you can try just making patches one night, then the next session do melodies, or just drum beats. that's a way to keep making music without needing to be "moved." you can write songs like that, from a more project type approach. and then, maybe take a break for a bit and then get inspired and one night you'll write a whole song, because all that would be good practice. another thing is to listen to a different type of music than the one you want to make. like listen to 70's rock and roll to get inspired for drum and bass or jazz and then go make trance music.
i did not buy it.
after looking into it, i think if someone really thought they could sell 100 records then the price for vinyl would be possible. i don't think i could.
all his preview sounds are awful. i can't tell how the records sound.
If the modification doesn't relate to chipmusic, everything I've ever wanted to know about guitar electronics is available in a google search...
If you want to wire it as a normal strat you can get a wired pickguard from http://guitarfetish.com
Otherwise, please be a bit more specific about what you're working with and trying to do.
thanks that's a helpful link.
unfortunately i don't know enough about electronics to know what's possible. i would like to at least make it a usable guitar again. if possible i might put in a mod of some kind. i thought some of you might know how to do that or maybe have ideas.
i have a yamaha pacifica guitar body that i'd like to rebuild. does anybody know about pickups and guitar electronics? i'd also be open to trying to put some other kind of modification on it if possible. any ideas or input would be helpful and appreciated!
i don't think you should get an old analog synth unless you enjoy working on electronics. the new ones sound awesome. only get one of the old ones if you'd really have fun fixing and maintaining it.
Ok thanks everyone but i might not be willing to pay that much for a synth just yet roboctopus. Is there maybe a synth i could get that is generally on the cheaper side but still decently fuctionable? Cheaper being less than 500. If this isnt a possiblity ill just have to start saving then haha. Also Grymmtymm i was wondering how much you would be willing to sell yours for? If its more than 500 i understand and im sorry i cant afford it yet.
EDIT:
would this synth be recommended?:
yes, that looks awesome.
the minimoog V is really good. http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/pro intro.html
i also had the modular and it sounded awesome but my cpu couldn't handle it. http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/pro intro.html
This isn't really a chipmusic video per se. More like a slide show with chiptune in it. Main focus was the music, but I figured I'd put in something to look at.
It plays a bit oddly because the original file is an mp4, so there was no conversion involved. I added some kind of lo-fi filter (forgot what it was called) to the tune in LMMS to make it sound a bit more authentic.
that was good.
track off the next album. footage from archive.org
that was great. i really enjoyed reading the poem during the song with the footage in the background. what program did you use to add the words?
it's really good.
here's the little things i noticed..
at 25s the beat sounds like the "game" is freezing
and then again at 30s
the first couple notes of the melody at 36s don't sound true to the original but then it picks up at 38s back to what i would expect
the beat "freezes" again at 1:15
at 1:26 i like the variation on the original melody
the beat lags again at 2:07
..this sounds exactly like i would expect someone playing a video game with this song in the background to sound. i think you did an awesome job. i was caught off guard by the melody at 36s but then it comes back in as recognizable. i really like the variation at 1:26, i'm not sure if that was actual notes or just harmonics. for the delays/lag/freezing sounds it could be your computer or system which could happen, or a couple notes could be just a tiny bit off. thanks for sharing.
it says they did a pressing of 300
7" two song vinyl. great artwork.. $10 -> http://www.radiograffiti.org/hexadeci-a -the-dark/
i've considered the compilation thing. i'll keep dreaming about putting out vinyl, maybe one day i'll have the money.
if one of ya'll makes a vinyl album i'll buy it if the cost is reasonable. : )
