not really sure if i am interested in promoting my self honestly.

this is my hobby and i have a full time job wife and child on the way so time i knid of a precious commodity for me.

what i have done is intercepted dead catfish with cd-rs taped to them that were sent to the stars (madonna, r kelly etc) removed the taped cd-rs with my own and repackaged them.  that resulted in more hits then wearing a three wolf tshirt into wall mart.  unfortunately the wife became tired of all the limousines parking in front and smashing the iris' and how the stars would never replace the toliet paper when roll when they used the last bit.  so it had to end.

wow this forum is soo much better then 8bittrollective ! I love how you guys share the tricks of the trade with eachother !

yeah I heard the new flash lets you convert stuff for iphone.
I think having a portable community and portable chip player (community driven, with playlists)
would be a lot of fun. You could catch up driving the train or subway with a "top 50 weeklist"
playlist, or a little scale playlist, or a personal favourites one or whatever.
I dunno if this can be done serverwise, but I would love a mobile app that does that.
Maybe it could be a podcast type of thing, I dunno. not too familiar with all of this

there's a nice little msx player called MMP by the way, by freddy groen.
I can't find it on his site anymore, only his KSS player (konami soundfiles).
it's a little standalone player with about 50 or so msx tunes in it, lots of
konami SCC ones (including mg 2: solid snake and sd snatcher), some PSG
tunes (astro marine corps, venom strikes back, auf wiedersehen monty etc.)
then a whole bunch of FMPAC ones by microcabin, illusion city, xak, princess
maker, thexder 2: firehawk and what not.
If someone has some ftp space to dump it on, I'll gladly upload it for those interested.

hmm I wouldn't know. still, as a designer (with too much time on your hands wink ) it would be a nice thing to make smile
Like a linkedin app, or facebook with more buttons. So you can listen to stuff on the go and read up on posts
and all.

Well, my idea (actually for micromusic at the time) would be to have an iphone app
to play the uploaded music there. Might be a fun idea for this site,
being able to have streaming audio of what's uploaded on the go,
make playlists sorted by artist, create your own faves, and maybe a button
or two to say HI ! to people.

and to add to that: I don't like selling myself or constantly yell how "great" I am,
it's such a laborious and annoying thing to do and it makes me feel cheap.
But in a way, it seems you constantly have to remind people of what you're up
to, twitter and be active in fora and make sure you're not forgotten because everyone
and their mom these days think they're either musicians, vj's, artists, writers, whatever.
Also, people's knowledge and memory these days is retarded.
Like I am often appalled by the lack of notion of what's been done in the past,
like the UK raving on how fresh chipmusic is and forgetting people like Gwem
and countless of others been making chipmusic in the UK for so many years.
Or people not having a single fucking clue about chipmusic before blip, or
micromusic, or any other consoles besides the fucking gameboy.
Or as if databending (what the....) was invented yesterday.
Bitter ? you bet.
I'm gonna kill you all

Yeah the ocm is a new device. Everything in it is emulated hardware,
it is the one chip msx after all. And most msx2s with a diskdrive
cost 25 euros usually. Scc+psg+fm= oracle (tracker)
and indeed, alex smile i had a post about the 9999 cd
made but switched between iphone apps before posting hmm
bluemsx doesnt always emulate sound properly,
adsm parameters often fuck up if i compare mb songs
with the original ones i made.
Oh yeah i forgot to mention the music module has midi
in/out/thru, built in sampler, line in and mike in and AM. Only reason
fmpac was favoured at the time was because of the built in sram,
allowing you to make savegames with games that supported it.

Hmmm, I saw that Moonsound but is it supported by anything?  I thought the SCC, Phillips Music Module, FM-Pac, and FRANKY!!! would be my best bet but even there I'm running into cartridge slot issues!  Maybe the Moonsound could simplify things a bit...

You can buy slotexpanders. I think it expands to 5 extra slots, taking up 1.
And if youre dead set on opll (fmpac) you could buy an OCM,
the one chip msx. Has fmpac and scc emulated as part of the
hardware
