Nex's mod that made internal casing leds flash to the tempo of the music is close.
(I wish I could see what it'd look like if I played my song Perihelion on it. Seizures?)

Hey, I was trying to keep the peace first! You just swooped in and stole my credit. Granted, I was one source of the unrest. . .

you definitely have some cool stuff going on in there. I really like that repeating riff/melody in there but I agree with wandering genie that it gets a bit repetitive. I'd just make it a 2 or 4 bar phrase as opposed to just one repeating phrase. vary it a little bit with each repetition or something. go up to a higher note, create a persisting melody something like that.
neat noisechannel work, i like those crunchy drums
Damn it. He typed everything I was going to say. Really liked the percussion. Just when I thought it would get repetitive, you'd throw a variation in.
I'll be back later with more stuff to say.

That circle jerk thread really did boost your ego didn't it.
I know how much you love popularity contests~
Edit: squaretherapy, I'm sorry about your thread. This isn't the place for whiny bullshitting, it's for feedback of your stuff. That being said, I've never seen a "my first lsdj track" get as much feedback as yours. You're doing great, keep at it. Listened to it again and didn't get bored, mark of a good song.

Wow? Me? Smug?
You're reading way too much into this. I wasn't being hostile or even completely disagreeing with you.
Whatever, I'll concede, listen to Je Mapp dragon: Throw out all advice because you didn't use a gameboy. Forget about the kick, I'm sure it's fine. All you other people who used an emulator too? You're shit out of luck, sorry. Your stuff will sound like crap until you can record with a gameboy. It's the most important thing for you as a musician, kids.
See, that is me being a dick. Now you can actually have something to actually complain about.

Re: My first chiptune... (90 replies, posted in Constructive Criticism)
If you take the time to study some good ways to make a kick, you wouldn't even need a second cart. Or listen to these guys and lower all the other volume so the kick was more prominent.
Listening to it again, on my phone without headphones, I can't even here a kick. Which isn't good. Because this tune needs a strong sharp one. All I'm saying is, don't rely on a 2nd cart to cover for you. The sound is there you just need to discover it.

Re: My first chiptune... (90 replies, posted in Constructive Criticism)
does playing through a DMG really add that much "umph"? Because maybe thats whats wrong with my kicks lol
Not necessarily/not really. You need better kicks and eq. The kick's sound needs to be beefier, along with it's bass level.

I didn't say not important at all, just less important for the purpose of getting. Firat time feedback.
What's more important, technique or sound quality?
