Haha cool. That's what I was hoping to hear. I'm out right now so I'll type out the lead for now. You can add other sections that have a variation of the melody but keep the originals in there someplace. You can change tempo also. smile

Oh and it is now ON. Confirmed fight: auxcide VS bclikesyou and subwooferspecial.
OR (if subwooferspecial and bclikesyou wants) auxcide VS bclikesyou VS subwooferspecial!!!

This is pretty epic. Excited to see what's thrown at me. smile

I could send you the .sav, but I want to see what chord structure/rhythm/everything you could come up with without my influence. So I won't. wink

If you want the lead and notes I could send that.

OH i get it now i was confused and though this was more like just making split EPs or something weird

BUT I UNDERSTAND ENTIRELY NOW AND FEEL REAL DUMB OK

Haha I'm going to find a way to write it up better, then it'll make it clearer. wink

I can collaboration with both bclikesyou and subwooferspecial. It's up to you guys. My first song's melody is already up.

Màn, that just hurt to read. . .

Right here! I want in!

I would probably do 1xLSDJ + vox as well, maybe guitar.

Just to clarify the rules...we take someone else's jam, redo it in our style, then we write an original jam and send it to that person to do the same to us?

Did you have someone in mind?

Edit: yeah. When you do your jam, you only show the other person the melody. And they only show you theirs. So not really a remix but 2 original songs with a common melody.

The lower sample quality gives it a lot more character in my opinion. The piano stuff in auxcide's track sounds mad cool!

Like in that track, I used k commands and e commands for a good delay feel. It helps to get rid of the more audible low quality static at an end of a sample.

Yeah; sounds like fairly standard fare for sample noise. If you figure out an additional way to reduce noise let us know; I'd love to make a Mellotron Piano kit; but the noise has just been too strong so far.

I was surprised people liked my song Ellipse even though it used sample piano chords. I guess it turned out okay.
I recently did a song with heavy sampled stuff. I used guitar samples and some synths. I think it sounds much better on an sp. It doesn't have nearly as much static as your example.

Edit: yeah use k commands to clean it up. Especially drum stuff.

I believe this is the appeal. Shocking the ears with the unconventional. I try to use non scale specific chords but never like this. big_smile
I like when people apply different musical elements to trackers. Not just the normal boring standards.

I might have to incorperate more of my virtuoso musical ideas.

I didn't hate the middle part, it just surprised me.

@Def, what you're hearing 'off' is him using some off notes in chords. Probably turning what would be a major in the scale to a minor (or vice versa). While weird and uncommon for the ears and western music listeners, I wasn't too bothered by it. You just get used to it.

So this has gotten interesting. . . If anyone else would like to go against me, I'm open. I'll even take on more than one. I got some time on my hands.
You can even have the first punch.

Here's what you'd be working on as far as my first round: http://chipmusic.org/auxcide/music/disregard-vs-melody

In the interest of not spreading my musical idea to whoever I'm with, it's only the melody. I already have a lot of it done so I cut out the bass and chords, even drum rhythms.
What you hear is: Verse, Verse an octave higher, Another melody (keep it if you want), and Chorus. If you want to use the same patch for leads I could send them (though their not that hard to figure out).

I'm working to get this set up for everyone to be able to do this, Roboctopus suggested. Just need to articulate the rules better for everyone.

Edit: 130 bpm, b flat minor.
