I hung out with Tristan (Trez) a couple of times back in 2008/2009. As well as helping to organise one of the best shows I've played he's one of the nicest guys ever! His stories of trawling the HVSC for party bangers and knowledge of Brussels cafes were brilliant. Last I heard he was studying, I suggested he should get back into mixing chipmusic...I've got to hit him up next time I'm in Brussels, maybe I can persuade him again!

Their Micromusic party hit Vleugels is still online, always been a fave! I'm afraid I can't help with the full mixes though...

I should mention here that hedgehogs are so nice and cool and an EP i made in one hour (that was a pretty bad idea) are both future classics and way more interesting than tons of chipmusic out there. 'ocet' and 'trodes' on this one are especially mind expanding.

There'd be no problem getting artists to play...the London chipmusic scene was one of the very first and best in the world (the old Micromusic HQ put regular shows on at the Asylum and one offs at places like the ICA to some acclaim), recently people have just had other things to work on and not really been able to commit to a direction, I think.

edit - I've done London chipmusic meetups before and I certainly would again!

Cool so when is Blip London happening?

This.

Tokyo's probably the the one city in the world I'd like to go to, and that's having already experienced it (including Super Potato, YMCK billboards in the street and a Xinon gig!). I'm sure this will be exemplary and worth every penny you pay, I just hope I can get back as soon as is humanly possible!

Rock on Lowtoy.

I love this thread!

Ceephax is all about the chiptune, man. He uses tons of chip gear and brings out the Amiga often...he has some Amiga tunes on his site, my favourite is possibly this.

Btw: any afterparties in need of any late night aggresive DJ sets?

I would recommend the Eindbaas crew!

Supernova by David Sugar.

It was a late release on Micromusic.net and as a result you don't see it mentioned often, but it's one of the most rousing and technically adept pieces of lo-fi electronic music ever written. And that's for the whole eight minutes.

Honourable mentions go to Dance 2 by peeR, Starlight by YMCK, and Gradifunk by Hally.

Wow, this is probably the coolest Blip-related event I've ever seen organised. Marc Nostromo must be so proud right now!

4mat and Ralp...fuck.

How about mr spastic? Earlier stuff especially has hip hoppy elements

Definitely, the ace Net from Uber l33t n00b br34k5 and several tracks from the earlier 8 to 16 Bit have got rapping in.

Does anyone remember Nervous Testpilot? He released some dope rap tracks on Micromusic.net - search for 'nrvststpilot' or check out the insanely fantastic Step-ups For Grown Ups and the regrettably titled (yet brilliant) Nerdcore Is Dead.
