I have the first 20 kits.
I had a couple of friends build up the kits and
they confirmed to me that they worked when they built them and the 2 i have built work fine,
so i'm going with that saying.. They're good to go! smile

You can purchase the kit through my website here:

http://lowgain-audio.com/midithru.htm

The kit will include all the parts needed to complete the PCB and panel mounted parts including
power jack, power switch, power LED and Midi Jacks w/ hardware.

*note* Kit does not include an enclosure or power supply. this project will run off a 9-12Vdc wall wart rated at 300mA or higher.
A PDF of the instructions has been created and will be available shortly.

It is a very simple build (as you can see above)

On a scale of 1-5. 1 being novice, 5 being expert..
I'd put the difficulty of this kit at a 2-3
Once you get 1 midi jack wired correctly the rest are just the same! smile .

Price for US buyers will be $55 shipped. Price outside the US is un known at the moment, But
i suspect it wont be too much more than $65USD.

For more pictures of the misc. builds of it so far... please visit the following link:

Simple buss powered  midi thru boxes can be unreliable and still cost around $50-100.
Active midi thru boxes that are 1x8 or more cost easily $150+.
Save yourself some money and multiply your Midi output by 11 in style!
These are active/buffered outputs!

Sorry to hear you're giving up.

talked to m-.-n,
he's pretty busy these days, and said in a couple months we'd be able to focus on it. Until then... it's gotta be put on hold.

i thought they use that small port next to the headphone jack? at least thats how that one guy go the midi notes into the psp in that one youtube video.
but if midi can be worked into the usb port that would be IDEAL!

if i'm going to mess w/ psp i want it to be comfortable.. 2001's are comfortable imo

I emailed Marc to ask him if he's up for the challenge

Well then... Lets get the ball rolling.
i need a psp 2000. lol

i personally cant wait for someone to get full midi out control from a psp so i can semi-retire my gp2x's, this is a step in the right direction smile

If someone wants to code it, i'm more than willing to make the hardware.

I'd make the drive for that too... someone talk to the owners.

Barcade is cool if you go when nobody is there, but true, the amount of machines has decreased since I first went to it.

what's sad is how most of the issues w/ the machines are probably simple monitor fixes...
You'd think that investing $$ into the machines would be something they'd want to do considering it is called... bARCADE

heh.

spec'd prices on flying out for this... tempting.
Couch?
