The MMC pcb is the one under the Transfer Pak pcb. As for connecting it to the cart slot, all of the leads going to the cartridge pins on the MMC, there are very tiny holes in each trace with a very tiny amount of exposed copper around them. I have some wire that will fit in the holes and although it would probably be very difficult, I figured I would just have those thin wires connected to the holes and extended from the pcb about an inch, then attach thicker wires so they'll fit in the cart slot holes better. I haven't really made it to the MMC yet, so once I get there I'll figure it out I guess.

I spoke with some people about the MMC, and the main problem seems to be finding a spot for the huge pcb, plus the routing of the cart slot pins through the MMC, and then to the cart connecter in the Transfer Pak. I'm going to find the pinout schematics for the MMC and see if/how I can fit it by possibly reconstructing the pcb. Currently waiting for a cap kit from Kitsch to arrive, should be here soon. Once I've got those I'll be able to really get back into this project.

Had a good time, great set DataFix.

What would it cost to ship the NES to Australia? and does the regular combined-mono audio out still work on its own as well?

Shipping to Australia is a tad pricey, I shipped a DMG to Aus not too long ago, I believe it was about $25 for that, so the NES would probably be $35 considering it's weight and size.
And the original mono jack still works perfectly smile

Price drop on the modified NES.

Woot woot.

Great work as always! Every time I see one of your GB's it just inspires me more and more! Keep it up!
Oh btw, random question that hopefully you could help with, but you're one of the bigger modders still around and I was curious as to what title you describe your job with? I'm in the process of making some business cards and I can't think of an appropriate job title that describes modding gameboys and nintendos for a living haha.

Daaaamn, those RGB kits are nice! Definitely putting one of those in my next clear DMG.

The NES is finished and up for sale, yo.

I just registered on NesDev, I'm sure I can find an answer there. Thanks for informing me on NesDev, Telerophon.

I got a little behind on finishing the NES, but I'm about to put the final touches on it and I'll (hopefully) have it officially for sale with better pics and the demo video in a few hours.

I got a greyboy as an xmas gift a few years back, mainly used it to play Pokemon, then bought an LSDJ flash cart from DJTransformer soon after.

I'm still new to the Expansion Audio out mod, but it seems to be necessary when using a PowerPak. I can't test that mod because I don't have a PowerPak (yet), but if it was installed wrong, wouldn't it cause the NES to shut off when a cable is plugged into the jack? I connected pin 3 of the expansion port to the (+) pin of the audio jack, then grounded it to the silver border around the PCB. I only have a few NES games at the moment, but is there a way I could test the expansion audio without a PowerPak?

The NES will be up for sale tomorrow.

What about adding Powerpak expansion chip audio out?

I looked into that, seems simple enough. I'll add another 1/4" and RCA jack for that channel tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks Telerophon! I didn't think to put it in the title but that is a good idea smile
We'll meet sooner or later I'm sure, I plan on attending the Halloween party at Game Over next weekend, and I'd be happy to discuss about modding.

I've almost got the NES finished, I installed all the LED's today, and later tonight I plan to wire them up and then I just need to disable to lockout chip and it'll be ready to sell! I'm not looking to make a fortune on this since it's my first NES and because I'm in need of quick money, so  if anyone is interested pm me an offer!
