if you're doing your own mastering, and you're unhappy with how it sounds, consider trying a new mix

oh, and i'll be making a few extra tapes this time to set aside specifically for online sales, so there should actually be a few available for non-locals if anybody is interested!
will throw up a link when those are ready in the next few weeks

hi guys, my new EP is up at https://fudgers.bandcamp.com/
this is my first release in almost 2 years, and I hope you like it.
couple LSDJ tracks in the middle, some guitar looping, YM, SID and loads of other whackiness throughout
let me know what you think!

^ haha what? there are heaps of great USB interfaces. maybe switch to firewire if you're picky about latency? :\
i found that the USB 2.0 interface i had did pretty much just as well as my Firewire 400 interface in terms of latency. the main issue i ran into was keeping a dedicated USB buss open on my laptop, and still use heaps of midi stuff.

not a huge fan of the preamps on them, but focusrite is known to have pretty solid D/A converters which is probably more important when you're recording line level from a GB. Check this one out.

EDIT: maybe not a good idea for getting stereo from the gameboy (duh ), check out this instead: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Focusrite-Scarl 2c8c4b31f5
the Profire 410 is also an option, they go for about $70 on ebay. the preamps are a pretty significant step down from the 610, but if you're looking to just record gameboy, you might be able to get away with not using them

buy a used Profire 610. not a huge fan of m-audio stuff in general, but the preamps on this interface sound unusually good for the price. pretty minimal on the inputs, but you really don't need much for electronic music, and the 2 individual headphone outputs can be really helpful,

Re: Adding Bass Booster pedal (or any other pedal) to your gear (14 replies, posted in Other Hardware)
at 200 - 400 hz youre not going to get a whole lot of extra sub thumping but you will get a lot of mud and phase.
The pedal seems intended for the E string of a guitar. Use an eq or a mixer with eq on the channel strips instead.
