i think trustworthy is the wrong word. Paypal is very reputable, and theyre not going to sell your credit card information or anything. Your mom is probably remembering the early, pre-ebay era of Paypal, where they were kind of a shadier, less secure company...

Using your credit/debit card information on Paypal is typically more secure than just directly giving it to the seller.

I think a better summary would be that Paypal is VERY buyer friendly, sometimes at a massive inconvenience to sellers. definitely two sides of the coin with that imo, an early chiptuning me got his money back from midines guy so...

My current question is:
Will it be possible to re-route the pots (or digitizers, not sure which they are) so that I might be able to move them to the bottom or side of my DMG case for slightly easier access?

use wire wink

You could use a combination of vocoder and bit crusher. Audacity is a free program with both plugins. The simplest work flow would be to take a vocal sample of speech as a wav. file., reverse it, then assign random notes to it through a vocoder plug in. Once you have a suitable robot esque inflection, apply the bitcrusher to give it a lo bit sound quality. You could then apply random splices manually and reorder the snippets of audio to give it an even more broken feel.

along this line, you could just feed your vocoder's filter bank with some chippy synth and modulate that w/ voice

i don't think buss eq is the answer to evening out that mix on chipbitz. the levels seem a little whacky, like those chords that stick around for most of the song seem way too far forward, and could probably use a bit of hatchet eq'ing.

best to play around w it but maybe a wide gentle cut in the mid range and then some old-fashioned fader moves on that track could open up the whole mix really nicely

when you have a song where the harmony and melody elements sit in the same octave range, best to let the melody have dominance in the fundamental range and let the chords come out in their harmonic range, or at least that's worked for me tongue

there are people who go to university for several years to study how to compose music and they end up writing awful 12-tone wank so y'know i guess it's all about what you think is good.

i'd say it's definitely necessary to write "clever" music, but then there's got to be people who'd disagree with that too haha

those with composition degrees are responsible for a large part of pop music

kinda does sound like fuck buttons on a gameboy. never been a huge fan of fuck buttons tho...... sad
