btw i'm not sure if you're interested by linux, but https://snapcraft.io/ seems to be pretty good, it's a packaging system, it was added to ubuntu and fedora recently, will soon be on debian stable (can't wait!), it allows to distribute software and be able to run them even if your system isn't on the bleeding edge ; if you don't have the latest libraries, it's not a problem since the package includes them, also it runs in a sandbox , so no security issues,

be able to run a stable distribution with the latest software version is something really interesting smile)

I would rather recommend appImages (or both):
http://appimage.org/

I can try to work on it...
@kometbomb, what distribution do you use?

Oh yea you might be right, its only on song start maybe?

I think so unfortunately. I couldn't convince Johan to send the row number for each row ;-(

Lsdj master works like  "your reverse map"

Youd have to grab the midi note and convert it to row position in your sequencer app, but its really handy for triggering for example an ableton live scene on live row trigger.

Does it send a midi note on each row number, while playing ?
I thought it was only sending the first row number when you pressed start...

Maybe arduinoboy can be altered to work with LSDJ, using one of if the spare cc commands and something like this:

http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?PHPSE … #msg118206

So everytime you do an X01, that is one quarter note pulse, and you can sequence downstream pulses. Then you can use a 2nd aboy on a bunch of gameboys that only derive clock from the channel.

You mean, like that: https://github.com/ledfyr/ab-midiout-lite ?

I would also like a kind of reverse-livemap, where lsdj would automatically send its current song position when starting to play a new row

Ledfyr wrote:

However, I think this requires a new LSDJ version. Currently there is no way to sync 2 gameboys while running in MIDI out mode. (Correct  me if I'm wrong anyone - I hope I am smile

I think you're right Ledfyr. It would be great to be able to send the midi clock (event 1/2 ticks for instance) AND midi notes

What player should we test our song on? if it plays correctly on Deflemask, it should be OK, right?

Hi
There is a version that only implements midi out mode, here:
https://github.com/ledfyr/ab-midiout-lite
Maybe that can help

Is it possible to use the adaptor for LSDJ midi out mode?

no, you need an arduinoboy for that. and the earlier ones don't support it without a firmware upgrade

OK, thanks.
I was wondering because of that:

MIDI signals from the Game Boy are forwarded to the PC.

I tested this mode and I nothing shows up in my midi monitor.
Is there a use for this mode?

Is it possible to use the adaptor for LSDJ midi out mode?

Ah okay. But still, it's quite a major command to rule it out for lsdj use!

Maybe it could be fixed or worked around in LSDJ...

Thats's a shame. But my understanding is that the GB Boy Colour has a nice backlight, good colours, but stretched screen and crappy audio. This might be similar?

The audio is not crappy.
There is less hum and the volume is higher than on a GB.
But the P command sound very different.

Yeah the clock was unreliable and also has a performance hit, so therefore completely useless and I removed it on the LSDJ side.
...
One could in theory make some custom commands on the Arduinoboy side to have LSDJ send a encoded tempo, and the Arduinoboy could send a MIDI clock tick when it receives the start message. *I believe* LSDJ still sends a start and stop message. Still kind of a pain but better than nothing if you have to have a clock tick.

Do you think that LSDJ could automatically send a clock tick or a start message, at the beginning of each phrase?
Wihout having to put X or Ns everywhere?

no new feature :-(
but thx for the release!

Why did you slow down the songs like this (at least P:machinery) ?

Using BennVenn's Joey Joebag you have a more versatile tool at your hand being able to get save files etc. And it's much cheaper. But you have to be aware of the fact, that it also means more work for you to get those pictures of the camera save file then. Sure, there are tools available, but it's an extra x steps to get the pictures.

I though the joey had the ability to 'stream' pictures out of a gb camera.
Have you tested it?
