Remember all those old video game systems you used to play, now sitting in your closet/attic/parent's closet/attic? Remember when you decided to be all cool and retro and hook them up to your tv again to relive the glory days? Remember on Friday May 28, 2010 when you saw 4 people each performing new and original music with the very same consoles? Well you better START REMEMBERING.

That's right, MAY TWENTY8BIT is upon us. Hailing from the faraway lands of New England, Oxygenstar, Facundo, and Active Knowledge are making their way to Nashville to melt minds and explode faces, armed with 20-year-old gaming consoles and a burning desire to party with each and every one of us. Joining them in The Explosioning is Nashville 8bit overlord Rainbowdragoneyes to complete a deadly lineup you'll have to see to believe. BELIEVE.

$5 a head (ask about our group discount if you are a hydra or you have more than one head), music will commence at 8pm. BYOB, but please don't B stupid.

His live sets can include drums, various electronics, the original Nintendo Entertainment System, old 90's MS-DOS computers, guitars, keyboards, a gigantic muppet afro, all of the above, none of the above, you name it. ACTIVE KNOWLEDGE (MASS)> “It’s not so much the preservation of youth, as the celebration of it,” says Chris Mahoney, better known in creative circles as Active Knowledge. Firing notes through an original Nintendo Entertainment System, the Active Knowledge mixes vintage video game sounds with synchronized glitchy, spastic visuals. The idea is unadulterated fun, with a focus on the unadult. Active Knowledge’s debut album “Pyramid Neon” is available to download for free on his site.
