My bad, I went back and changed it so the instrument was 0F and got rid of the E command. It gives me the same result however as when I first tested it. When I assigned the instrument number back onto the D5, it gave me the playback you described and repeated the envelope. The only way I could think to get around this would be using the E command on each note change so it actually sounds like a smooth fade rather than the harsh jump I'm getting.

So I just tested out that phrase and it doesn't repeat the envelope for me. It does the normall 0F fade up until it's interrupted by the D5, which plays at its normal envelope in the instrument screen (which I left as a default A8). Don't know if that's what you want or not though.

I was listening to this last night and forgot to comment. I couldn't find one track I didn't like.

But anyway back on topic, I think people could use this thread in the future to ask about crashing somewhere.

Yo, bother me and i can let you borrow my mini kp at the next 8static for a little while so you can get a better sense of if it's what you want long term or not, i barely use it because i've been doing all my junk in ableton

That would be awesome. I'll be sure to ask. Thank you!

What do you plan to do live? And what kind of future setup are you hoping for?
I.e. synced drum machine, keyboard, dj effects.

As we were talking about in the other thread, I choose the mini kp because of it's portability, simplicity for live effects, and as an afterthought because I plan on doing other stuff live like synths.

So I guess what I mean is: do you plan to dedicate live performances to playing it and lsdj live?

Essentially for right now that's what I plan on doing. I'm also thinking about running two LSDJ carts into it through a mixer (which should be possible unless I'm just being dumb right now). However, down the road I may change my mind and want to bring a MIDI keyboard in as well or some other drum machine.

Also what price do you see the kp3 for on eBay? Just curious.

This one's going for $100 starting bid or $240 for buy it now which I wouldn't have a problem with actually.

Some of the other ones are from $110-290 range.

I have the kaossilator, kaossilator pro, and KP3, but not the mini KP, so can't speak for it.

advantage of the KP3 & kaossilator over the older ones, mid in & out ports (which means you could sync the midi clocks to your gameboys), the cool LED screens, and 4 sample banks (or channels), not one like the originals.

disadvantage:bigger, no batteries.

So other than the bigger size and the no battery thing, have you had any other complaints or problems? Thanks!

I've been looking into picking up a Korg Mini KP for a while now so I can add a bit more to any live performance I may do. However, now I can't decide on whether or not I actually want to buy the mini or go ahead and get the larger Kaoss Pad 3. Originally I said I wouldn't go out and buy one because they're pretty expensive. But just for fun I went on to ebay to look at some prices of used ones and I've found some that are only maybe $50 more than the Mini KP. Now I'm just wondering if any of you guys happen to have any opinions on or experience with either of the products that might make me want to go in one direction rather than the other. I like the battery option that the Mini KP offers, but I don't know if that should be enough to stop me from going with the KP3.

It would be interesting if you attached a heavy duty carabiner to the end of that.

I'm picking one up as soon as I get my next paycheck. I don't think I could ever feel 100% guilt-free spending my money on the Koass Quad though, as much as I'd like to own one.

I probably would be able to host, I doubt my roommates would mind. And I live right in Center City which is pretty much where everything touristy in Philadelphia is located.

Moral of the story is make music for fun and not for money. You'll most likely end up happier that way anyway.

. Also, Q is not your enemy.

This. I've gotten a lot more sound out of my basses recently by changing the q setting. Also try messing with the waveform as everyone else mentioned. Sometimes it will sound too crunchy when listening to just the bassline, but with all of the other instruments on top it may cover up the crunchiness while still making the bass come  through clearly.

Lolnot21 so looks like I can't go sad

Has anyone played the .savs on a dmg or mgb? I'm curious if people have problems with it crashing on them like I do.

Only my ags can handle it.

I plan on trying it out once I buy my next cart (hopefully next week). Although, I've tried running them both on my computer with two instances of BGB running, and it will begin to lag, then eventually slow down until it just stops completely. That may just be because running the two puts so much pressure on the processor though.
