To all those who are thinking of attending I highly, highly recommend it.  Going to be a great show, plus it'll be awesome to meet all you folks from the forums!

I totally told a friend of mine from Ann Arbor to go.  She's an opera singer.

The fact is, the chipmusic and module music scenes came directly from early hacker and programmer culture.

It certainly makes sense to me that our current scene would have a rift between those who like to use the power of modern technology and those who like to work within limitations and push their hardware to the edge.

Personally I see merit in both.

Sorry, I forgot that chiptune music is all about semantics.

I have a parallel port zip drive (and disks) I'm not using.  If you decide to go that route I could give it to you for the cost of shipping.

See you guys at both those shows!

I think it pretty much goes without saying for most of us.

"You're the one who always listens to that macintosh music, right?"

"It's like mario on shrooms, except mario is a plumber so he's not made out for harsh drugs like that and he's having a bad trip."

"Fucking terrible."

Generally though, most people I expose to chipmusic like it, or at least understand it as a genre.

My thoughts exactly.

Live streams are awesome as long as you can get the audio setup right.  I'll watch a blurry shot from a bad angle as long as the audio is properly audible.  However, it doesn't matter how good the shot looks if the audio is really crummy.

I'm not too picky, either, I don't need FLAC quality or anything, just something that doesn't distort every time there's a kick drum.

Long list, I know.  I'm hard to please.  I also marked those who I've seen who stand out with their live performance, for one reason or another.

There's a facebook page for it now, too.  http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=196325367060500

There's going to be an open mic at the start, why not come down and participate?

Going to be a hell of a show.  The visuals, the music, all top notch folks here!  But beset of all, it's just going to be super fun!

It's quite possible that the battery came unseated, or that the power switching (from game boy power to battery power or vice versa) caused the wipe.  If either of those are the case, make sure the battery is fitted properly but you should probably be fine using the cart again.  Just make sure you always back up.
