Wow, thanks guys, if I had known there was more than the tiniest demand for CDs I would have put them up ages ago.

I'm sick of having these things laying around, and I'm passing the savings on to you!  If you've ever had some strange impulse to own a physical copy of Computer Savvy, now is the time, just $1 plus shipping! Also, I'll throw in a download code for The World's Smallest Violin!

Exclamation point!

I just stopped in to say how great the name Run/DMG is.  That'll be all.

Thanks guys, it was a lot of fun to do and I'm happy with how it turned out, it had been a while since I'd done so much instrumental music.  Telerophon: Get ready for more multiples.

Turns out it was just the driver problem, I used it on my old computer and it worked fine; thanks everyone for convincing me there was nothing wrong with the cart, who knows what I would have tried in my desperation.

you might want to try old versions of lsdj before johan changed the hf vibrato.. it used to get MUCH crazier but thats the tradeoff for being more musical on the other end.

Ah, I didn't know about this, I'm using some version from 2007/2008 or something, so maybe my advice isn't as applicable as one would hope, but that's probably how he got the sound.

It's also important that the vib. type is set to HF to get high speed vibrato, but that's the default so it should be simple enough.

You would get a sound like that by making a pulse instrument with a relatively high vibrato setting, maybe around VF5 or so, probably in a table for convenience. It's also a good way to make distorted bass sounds in a pulse channel.

I'm on Windows 7, I've gotten the software to work before on this OS and I've done the whole thing where you have to "sign" the drivers or something of that nature with some program; at this point I really don't think that it's a software issue, but I hope I'm wrong.  The funny sound I mentioned earlier also worries me because it never used to do that, even when I had driver/software issues (of which I've had my fair share).

I went to back up my EMS cart the other day to find that the USB port wasn't working, I thought it was a software/driver issue at first, but the light doesn't light up when I plug it in and my computer makes an "uh oh" sound.  The cart is otherwise completely functional, but there are a few things on there I would realllly like to back up; does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this without wiping the memory, or have the ability to do it and willingness to have me mail it to you and fix it/just back it up and send it back for some kind of fee?

Thanks, y'all.

Well then, I'll have to start thinking about how I would go about that writing a thing about how I record, should be fun, of course if anyone has any specific questions feel free to ask away.

Subway: Yes, it was very much on purpose; I've fallen deeply in love with Brazilian music over the past 1.5 years or so, Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa, Novos Baianos, Joao Gilberto, Jorge Ben, Os Mutantes, Nara Leao, Jobim (of course), Tom Ze, etc...I'm also fairly into '90s indie/alt rock/whatever stuff, so that makes sense.  And that's okay, I've started to like Computer Savvy myself, though I wasn't too fond of it at the time of it's release.

10k: There's nothing I want more in this world than to live with you on the sunny shores of Australia in marital bliss.

Thanks for another great collection of songs. I would love to read a blog post or something on your recording and production techniques.

Thank you, I would love to do that actually, I kind of feel like it would be a little embarrassing considering my fairly amateurish recording style, but I love reading about how people record/mix/etc. and if folks are curious about anything I'm happy to oblige.

The answer is that the southern accent is really just the way that I myself talk, because if you go south far enough you end up right back where you started.  Case closed.

Thanks guys, Nick: Yeah, I played all of the live horns on Southern Accent, but there are also keyboard horns all over that song, I imagine the difference is pretty obvious.
