So guys, i just bought a nice clearboy and i want to dye it with rit. I do know the process involves using acetone, rit dye, and hot water. What i dont know is exactly how much of each and for how long do i let the dye set in. Im going for a dark smoke black color, so i bought navy blue and pure black dyes. i think the dullness of navy blue would help not leave a cooperish tone to the black. If any of your fellow modders have some ideas/guides on how i should go about this i would be forever greatful!!

Re: How did you learn music? (58 replies, posted in General Discussion)
Knowing how to play a instrument would help alot. But, if you dont know any instruments. I would take some time and read some music theory books or watch some videos. You dont have to dive too hard into it, but knowing the differences between major and minor scales and modes will provide alot help. Ive a self taught musician. Your own brain is your limit into creativity, so knowledge is power! remember to have fun more than anything

Set your clocks back and your minds forward for the new album "Nostalgia Paradigm" by Cincinnati Chiptuners SSD Engage. The sophomore release inspired by raelism and questions of the universe. Tackles a bigger sound and bigger themes. This album is the culmination of much learning with what we thought of ourselves, how we related to our instruments and how we grew as people and a group through the processes therein. So if you have about 30 minutes to waste please check it out!

Re: Should chipmusic stay underground? (76 replies, posted in General Discussion)
I dont really seeing dmg based gameboy chiptune becoming mainstream. Now i could be wrong, in all honestly i would love to be wrong. I know a few hip-hop artists/producers have sampled or tweaked chipartists melodies/phases. People tend to like that. I like the fact that people tend to love chipmusic when they hear it but most of them, not all dont take it as serious as we all do. The ones that do end up becoming a chiptune artist themselves that one of the many reasons i love this artform, anybody can pick it up. Most older people dont see a computer as a instrument, which is hillarous. If chiptunes were to become mainstream it would probably be very polish and very digital and probably with a singer/rapper and a thick beat yo, thus the death of chiptunes. I want nothing more than chipmusic to be widely accpected but mainstream nahhhhh they would rape gameboy music into oblivion and man that isnt cool.

Re: Reactions to Chipmusic (141 replies, posted in General Discussion)
I've gotten all sorts of reactions. I had this jamband guy tell me it isn't music. Most jam band assholes who don't know what a song is. I'm not here to jack off with notes, sorry ain't my style, may work for phish but not me. The best reaction was from a 50 or so year old woman tell me that my music was somthing special and truly amazing. This woman never played a video game or knew what a gameboy was, to hear that from her was unreal.

Re: How is your local chiptune community? (430 replies, posted in General Discussion)
Cincinnati has a bit of a chip scene. Its mainly four artists andaruGO,SPRY,hunterquiin, and myself spOOked. We don't typical have big shows like they have in philly and nyc. We try to do a monthly chip show that has been dubbed "cartRAGE" I play open mics everyweek we really want to reach out to the chip community near such as kentucky indiana and illinois. The midwest has some amazing artist but I think if we can get together we can make something huge I hope. It does suck having shows were 4 people come but we have a lot heart and played our brains out. We can have differances but we mostky get along. you just got to play to the people in this city wither its basement shows somebodys garage we try to play anywhere.
