Not really a metal fan, but I must admit that I'm really enjoying this album!
edit: reminds me a bit of the band Lukhash, though this is a lot more metal-like http://www.myspace.com/lukhash

btw. my favourite Track is Artificial Ocean, I like the non-linear structure, the pattern sound slightly shifted and there's an interesting crescendo to it, especially the second half of the track is really amazing! I also really liked the first track, to be honest I hadn't heard that one until the release, so i was quite surprised when hearing an acoustic guitar-voice track! smile That one made me wish to hear a track where you play together, i.e. mix the vocals and guitar part with GB tunes....

Thanks guys, I hope the music is good too. Hannes' artwork makes me do this:

hahaha! thanks man! smile
as far as my opinion counts on this, there is something really intriguing about this album, but it's a bit hidden, you have to dive into it to find it. I loved to work on it, it was very inspiring for my work. I wouldn't actually have accepted if it were not that way.

you can also add an LFO using a 555 timer, like add an LFO to your APC, but it could also work with bent toys I guess...

TouchOSC (which as the name says uses OSC not midi) is an interesting option, though I've heard many reports of it not being very reliable in a live situation. Right now the only means of sending and receiving data from the ipad is through Wi-Fi, and that's apparently where the problem lies.
Before you start selling stuff you might want to test the ipad solution... it might not be as cool as it looks...
On the other hand... controlling old school chips with an ipad is a bit of an oxymoron, don't you think so?

thanks! (for the compliment on the art thing) smile

After several months of use I must say this is the only useful music app I have on my iphone. The only one I have done some real music with, at least. I have a lot of other apps, wasted some good money on it, some are really nice but too buggy and the interface too cumbersome to be really useable (like jasuto pro) others are just toys and nothing more. Nanoloop makes perfect sense on the iphone, it's perfect for the screen, uses just as much of the capabilities of the device to be fun and has that chiptuneish flavour I like.
The only point of critique is (and here I agree with what others have said) that it sometimes feels a bit like a halfway thing.

If you like the YM chip and want the real thing there is also this one:
http://www.straytechnologies.com/ym-min … audio-out/
you attach it to your laptop via usb and control all the parameters via CC
of course you won't have poliphony with this one...

jasuto pro should be out by now... but that's it for now I think. Nanoloop on Android would be really swell, but it's not gonna happen apparently... stupid iphone get's all the cool apps... but why buy an android phone when you can have a gameboy? big_smile

yeah please put it on bandcamp! I love this album, but I don't want to use itunes, and amazon won't let me buy it (since I'm not in the US) sad

Seems like a desperate attempt at saving virb from disappearing. And seems also like the most wrong thing to do... don't know how many people will be paying to have that kind of service. They should at least offer a free version of some kind (not that I would use it).
Actually it's a pity, because somehow virb has been a nice attempt at making something less ugly than the rest... so I think I'll just wait to see how it is like, just for curiosity's sake...

Thanks a lot! I'm currently thinking about selling prints... I've got a couple of them up on deviantart and am adding more as people request them: http://gasteropod.deviantart.com.

If you want something specific I can print with decent quality up to A3 at the place where I work...

Part of it is drawn/painted by hand, part is extensive photoshop work combining photos, scanned textures and a bit of digital painting. And of course I have a wacom tablet...

Thanks people! Really appreciate it!
@phib3r Optik: I see we have quite a different taste... but that's the good thing about this world, isn't it?
@Shriker: you mean like a photo retoucher? I do that kind of work a lot too... one must live off something...

Funny that I find a bike thread here... where I work it's all about bicycles, bike-marketing, bike-kommunication, bike-wear... and so on.
I spent the last months working on this bike related website for Munich (www.radlstar.de). While I love to ride my bike, I start to have those moments where I want to punch every bicycle riding person I meet on the streets big_smile guess I need a vacation...

Sounds like a great project, will see if I can draw you something for it (thinking about the pirate)! keep me posted about the EP thing!
