Thanks guys! The new release will be my first Famitracker release. I'm hoping to develop a new live set around it after its release. big_smile

Cool to read through what some people have said here. I've gone back through some of the compilations I was involved in during 8bc times and have definitely noticed the absence of a few of my favorites.

That being said, I'm not as active in the forums these days but I've got a new album that I'm putting out in August.

Feels good to touch base. wink Hey everyone!

In re: to the clicking when panning, I can confirm that the new version does emulate the clicking where previous versions did not. I now have installed the new version and an old version so I can get clicks or no clicks depending on the application.

Nice, MicroD. I enjoy the drums, they naturally bring a lot of energy and life to a performance.

Thank you sir! big_smile

We'll get to the drums in a second, but I LOVE that whole Mariachi Band refrain you've got going there, lol. It's just lubly. Is that what you were going for? I'm just imagining a group of pixelmans in sombreros with guitars and trumpets made of hexidecimals and waveform patterns... yeeep...

As for the drums, yeah, man, they're great. Seemed like you were struggling to stay in time on the sustained cymbal crashes, though. You must really likes to play fast, haha.

I really enjoyed it, and the drums seemed to mesh with the chippytunes quite nicely.

You nailed it with the Mariachi thing. There's a more obvious portion in one of my other songs titled Excision. I always tend to write with "real" instruments in mind. That's what makes it most fun for me! smile

Thanks a lot. Drums are not my primary instrument and I'm hoping to get my own kit and space to rehearse in the future. I usually borrow when I have gigs and try to rehearse the day or week prior. I certainly have a lot of fun drumming along to this stuff. It was a sizeable task writing the drum parts for some songs though. Coming back to add drums to already fast songs in 5/4, 11/4 etc. and making that work... tongue

Here's a short one a friend of mine was kind enough to put together from a recent show in Austin!

What do you think of the drums?

Edit: Disregard the slightly flubbed ending. hmm wink

You know I'll be there!

Cute! I just wish that you'd gotten rid of the VH1 logo; it's distracting. Oh, and I didn't see the elephant wearing a headdress! I'm glad the Pope John Paul II impersonator is gone, though. That was just embarrassing.

Ah yeah. I considered removing it but it would have meant either a pretty lengthy manual process or cropping it out of the frame along with a large portion of the video. My cover didn't include the bridge since it didn't translate well, so most of that part of the video got cut out (including the elephant). I wanted to make sure to match up the vocal melody in the song to the video. wink

Lol, I likey. Looks like something that'd be on one of those little VideoNow thingies. I wonder how it would look at half frame-rate.

Ha, I can see that. I thought about adjusting frame-rate but didn't want to create any weirdness between the movement in the video and rhythm of the song.

Thanks for watching! smile

I whipped up this video for fun a few weeks ago and decided to go ahead and publish it today. This is my previously unreleased cover of "King of Wishful Thinking" by Go West. For the video, I used a few rounds of batch processing to get a result that looks a bit like a Game Boy Camera version of the original music video. I first edited the original video for speed and length, then exported each frame into a folder. I used batch processing to reduce the size of each to match the resolution of the Game Boy Camera, then reduced the colors, etc. before using nearest-neighbor upscaling to bring the frames up to 1080p resolution with a frame and border to preserve the aspect ratio.

My processing was based on this link but with the correct starting size of 128x112: http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=8990180
