That sucks. I think it's just kinda hard to paint gameboys. I painted my gameboy color silver and it didn't look that good.

Hi everybody! I've been looking for pokemon gold for a while, and I finally found one that is in my price range. The only problem is that the internal battery is dead so the game won't save. I've seen tutorials on how to replace the battery and it doesn't look that bad, but I've never tried it before so idk.
So I have two questions:
Is it hard to put a new battery in?
and should I buy this one or keep looking? This one is 10 dollars which I think is pretty reasonable. Even if it doesn't save.
thanks!

Ok, so the fake pokemon emerald is exactly the same as the real one? I really just wanna get a GBA pokemon game that i can play on my gameboy micro since it can't play original gameboy games XD

Hey guys. I want to buy pokemon emerald, but i'm worried about fakes.
Does this one look legit? I have a feeling its a fake.

also, is there any difference between the real and the fake? I mean, I just want the game for gameplay.

I love the pocket! It was my very first gameboy and got me interested in gaming. I remember my whole town had this day every year where you put out crap you don't need anymore in boxes in front of your house, and then a truck came and picked it up. It was kind of a tradition for kids to look through the boxes and find stuff. I remember I was digging through my neighbor's box, and I pulled out a blue gameboy pocket with donkey kong land 2 in it. I remember being so excited and running home to test it. The screen was blank, but after about 3 minutes I realized that the contrast was all the way down.  Honestly, i don't remember how i remember this, but I do. XD
I really wish I hadn't sold that gameboy. I realize it kinda has sentimental value now sad

I left my link cable in the club at BRKfest last weekend.  I found one at a retro gaming store today for two dollars and some change.  They said I was probably the only person to ever buy one from them, and they had more.  So check retro gaming stores in your area.

You have a retro gaming store? You lucky ducky! XD
My game store doesn't have anything older than gameboy advance

I have a blue Sega Game gear that I don't want anymore. It's in pretty good condition and has both battery covers, but one won't stay on without tape or something. How much do you think I could get for it?

Hey guys. Just wondering if any of you people know a good place to get a link cable. Mine keep disappearing XD.  I have checked Ebay, and all of them are like 10 bucks o.o  I'm thinking there might be some kind of Hong Kong site that sells em dirt cheap, like DealExtreme. Unfortunately, DealExtreme doesn't have them hmm So if any of you people know a good site let me know please tongue

Guess what I just picked up from a garage sale for 5 bucks?  A GAMEBOY LIGHT! big_smile NO JOKE! It even came with donkey kong land 2! Regular game-play works just fine, but I tried sliding the switch all the way to the right and... NOTHING! The light isn't working! I disassembled the gameboy to take a look at the EL screen. It looks fine to me, so i figured that the contacts were bad. I cleaned them off, but it still didn't work! Any Ideas? If you guys want pictures, I'd be happy to take some. smile
Thanks!
Oh! Also, do you guys know if it's at all possible to get a GBL battery cover? Unfortunately, this gameboy doesn't have one.
