Hey guys,

I'm currently faced with quite the dilemma.

As the holidays approach, I was hoping to make my girlfriend her own gameboy, as well as a LSDJ cart.  The gameboy was cake (i'll post pics after i finish painting it) but i'm a bit uneasy about soldering this card.

I found an old copy of Medarot 2 (GBC),

so if i killed it in the process, it's not to big a deal, but i'm deathly afraid of screwing up my EPROM.

I'm hoping to use a AMD29F032B-90EF, along side Mr.Ziegler's Amazing set of instructions (Which can be found here) But after reciving the chips, i'm starting to get cold feet...

I mean just look at those pins!

Any tips of advice? maybe some kind of TSOP to dip connector?

TLDR: I'm a weenie, and am afraid to solder small pins- advice?

Thanks in advance,
-Ben

I was bidding on a lot of 6, with out realizing my paypal was lacking the funds to purchase such a large load- and with no other bidders insight i think i may end up getting stuck with the order..

So i come to you guys asking if you by chance are looking for one or two DMGs and would be willing to pay in advance- i'd of course ship them the day they're delivered to me..

So, PM if you're interested!

Thanks in advance,

I didn't think so.. Darn.. I should be able to switch it out for another screen though right?

(The screen that came in it was from a DMG-07, while the motherboard was a DMG-03, so i'm pretty sure it's all cross-changeable)

Hello!
Sorry to bug you all with such a ridiculous inquiry, but i recently toasted part of my ribbon cable trying to fix some horizontal lines after installing a backlight, and i think i may have just ruined my screen hmm

I suppose it wasn't the smartest thing to do, but i found a video (can't find the link again- sorry..) talking about how getting rid of the horizontal lines is almost identical to getting rid of the vertical ones- simply running a low powered soldering gun over top, resealing the contacts seems to do the trick, but my crummy hand-eye coordination lead to this (those with a faint heart may want to turn away)-

and this..

TL;DR I'm pretty sure i ruined the screen- anyway i can turn this guy around?

It's my first gameboy, and i'd hate to have it down for the count so soon..

Thanks in advance for any help!
