not sure it requires it, but that method definitely works

oh, you have to make the project first.. before doing anything really in the new blank project, save & exit. then you drop the sf2 into the sample folder for the project. next time you load the project, the sf2 should fill the first 1-x instruments with its instruments
would be nice if we could just import them like samples from the samplelib, but this works too

lgpt (piggy tracker) .. http://gorehole.org/lgptWiki/doku.php
it's basically like lsdj, just with 8 channels and it uses samples and soundfont files instead..
you can run lsdj on psp also, through an emulator.. rin is supposed to be a pretty good one

no, you wouldn't
just use 44 kHz like normal

wow, thats pretty bad

yeah, i mean just dont upload random edm done in ableton without chip vsts/samples or anything weird like that..

this is kind of awesome. i love porters, only wish shipping were practical
doing it as download codes on the labels? smile

and it is a loose blanket term really at this point.. sample based trackers, circuit bent gear, pure hardware chips, chipsounds vst all sort of overlap.. its more about a lo-fi/lo-tech aesthetic rather than a genre, really

you can make it sound pretty much identical, piggy has built in bit-reduction/bit-crushing along with distortion

true, just still was pretty messed up... especially when he tried to explain how it was totally different because he changed a note at the end

yeah.. i mostly use piggy now (well entirely for d_strct), so does starpause, plus bleo, xc3n, matt nida, etc and no one considers any of us to be somehow less a part of the scene (even if some of my stuff isn't really that "chip" sounding since i'll use longer samples, guitar riffs, etc, but neither is a lot of amiga stuff that i like either)

thats not what this conversation was about to begin with.. its about difference between covers and remixes and the legality of uploading either to bandcamp

oh yeah, google found this in seconds
