also, on the midi mappings: where it says <MAP src="midi:all:0:cc:104" dst="/event/up" />, would the 0 be setting the channel, with 0 being omni mode? or is it the "all"? or is it default to omni mode for receiving midi? setting up the new midi controller with mappings so any future live gigs can leave the gamepad at home and just control everything with the midi controller.. also, can you map a midicc to do button combos? (like needed to switch to live mode, for example)

well, if you need midi din, $5 cheapo cables from amazon work fine with pi

2nd edit: oh and the nanoloop usb adapter works fine with piggy at least as well, so should be fine with other software on pi

OK GUYS ! I use the pi for viz, havent really for music but I can tell you this... ITS A TUFFY. I push it all the time and its always reliable.I havent used it in a TON of shows but its in my bag everyday, everywhere I go and never has issues. The 3.5inch tft touch screen is nice and I have one and its killer for showing terminal read out. They have some 7 inch displays that are great as well. There is a new sound card that goes on the pi that you should look into as well. http://www.adafruit.com/products/1761 I dont do too much in audio again but I hope I can help you out. I love the pi and would to see more people using it.

ooh, s/pdif, might have to grab one of those for the xbmc pi
edit: and im almost all pi on my piggy stuff now, love it for piggy midi, just should really take the time to get my wireless 360 controller set up with it instead of the $6 cheapo folding usb mini gamepad, but it does the job for now smile

you can emulate dos and c64 on psp
http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Psp_dosbox
http://www.emuparadise.me/Commodore_64_ … P/VICE/148
so there's that...
but for enclosures, i have one of these and i like it
http://www.microcenter.com/product/4145 … re_-_Black
same thickness as a closed gba sp, so not bulky at all, just barely large enough to fit the ports

not sure if i know anyone personally who has tried this out yet, but i'll ask around and see if i can direct people to the thread since it feels like 1/3rd of my friends own at least one Pi

you can find em on ebay cheap if youre patient, but that can be hard to be sure on condition... i just got a psp go in perfect shape for $60 shipped though, so the good ones are out there

lol, i want an hss3j, but you said you dont do US shipping (and would need to be sure that it outputs NTSC also, though everything online seems to say it does both NTSC and PAL)

im not trying to discourage people, more trying to encourage people to find their own musical voice and not give in to the myth that somehow the limitations of pure chip somehow make it inherently better for creativity

no one seems to be paying attention that i was saying as a percentage of the scene as a whole, not that unique stuff which mixes in other hardware doesnt exist at all (and dan seems to be caught up on the unique and unoriginal part, its great and all that those guys are putting things out, but cTrix, knife city and most acts you listed are still primarily dance oriented so not really my thing.. by original i meant styles of music, not just instrument design and sounds.. sorry to say bryface is far from the first person to make entire tacks from a single sample in a tracker either)..
nullsleeps set he put online today and the stuff stagediver is doing lately is a little more what im into and care about

yeah, and as blunt as my words may have come across, im not trying to say anything really about those types of music beyond that they don't interest me and that i'd expected the variety to have expanded more in pace with the overall growth of the scene while it hasnt really seemed to have worked out that way
