renoise is nothing like max msp!!!!!!!

A thing I like is the patchable modules, which you can do in Renoise, Bidule & Audiomulch. The way I like things is having things be fun and let daunting with technicals. Yes, I don't want Renoise to be like MAX/MSP.

I will know anyway having played with the demos Hehe.

I may play with an older copy of MAX/MSP in Mac OS 9 on a older PowerBook G3, provided I can run the older copy of MAX/MSP, reformat the PowerBook G3 with 9, and get the power started up on the PowerBook. wink

pure data is very very similar to max/msp and it is completely free

but maybe you wanted an alternative for different reasons to price? smile

I had very different reasons to price. As I've looked at Audiomulch, Bidule & Renoise I see a lot I like about all of them.

These alternatives are: Audiomulch, Bidule & Renoise. I don't have a lot of weighty reasons why I feel good about the alternatives to MAX/MSP I found. Mostly I have to try the pre-purchase versions, and then after having a few months I can find out if I'm right about loving these programs. I just think the differences between the programs means I can have reason to use all, but some of the programs allow the other programs to be hosted inside them. And I think I could use any of them to do live sets. I think I'm going to like Bidule a lot because it allows some lower-level graphical modular synthesis tinkering not allowed in the others, but not being so technical as to be daunting, like Reaktor or MAX/MSP

Tweeted this just now. Thankyou.

I made two accounts, in Esopus and Battleship types. People seem to be finding them.

This is so beautiful I couldn't speak for a month. Just kidding. I hadn't been paying attention to software development @ chipmusic for this long, and look what happened.

@Shiru: You are a god!

I think there was an understandable confusion between DX7 and Genesis. The Yamaha DX7 is a 6 operator Frequency Modulation synth! The YM2612, the Yamaha TX81Z & the Yamaha FB01 are 4 operator Frequency Modulation synths. The Yamaha FS1R is a hybrid that has Formant Synthesis and can do some FM sounds.

The first one I'm quite sure is from the Netherlands.

Thanx for helping: the_Agent

Again, you are cool to take them. I identified all the names I could. Sorry I couldn't be 100 percent accurate.

Saturn cutscenes always rocked my shit.
I still think they do.

No one will understand this like I do.
I can already see the plethora of non-responses.

I was going to respond to this, but then I saw the Japan World Cup scene. I think all these polygon scenes are winners.

I feel like I'm just starting out making noise on 2.3/2.5. I liked scsnippets and e.s.c. was already mentioned.

A point which might be interesting for dicussion, why so little nostalgia for the early/mid 3d console graphics era. I am far from expert but other than Rosa Menken I cant think of anyone who has done much  with it. Rosa had some awesomely creepy glitchy polygon stuff happening for little-scales 2009 blip set.

I'm glad you mentioned Rosa because I am a mega fan of that glitching polygon style!
