Also I make all my own samples if thats fine

You are allowed to use your own samples, but please try to limit it to one or two. The majority of the sounds used, however, should come from the suggested stockmusic site, because otherwise it would completely defeat the purpose of STOCKwave. Once you start working with the available sounds, you will find that it's actually a lot of fun to SQUEEZE some soul out of those lifeless tracks tongue

The big thing about sampling "huge popular songs" is that big record labels (who own the songs) are not exactly known for being generous with their assets, and they can afford crafty lawyers to protect those assets. It would be great to sample all pop songs and give the finger to the corporate swine, but unless you are willing to pay for that right, or receive "cease and desist" notices and legal threats, I would advise against it.

This is SO FUCKING GOOD! I never knew that TSS has so many release. There goes my weekend...

defPREMIUM, unfortunately I cannot rap (yet), but I would totally be down to help startup a collab or netlabel thing. I am shifting my focus in music to electroswing/hip-hop as I am not angry enough to write convincing metal songs tongue
And smmr jmz was fucking incredible!!!!

Yeah!!!!! You won't regret trying your hand at stockwave. Go grab some cheesy samples, lay down some beats, and HAVE FUN! If you, or anybody else,  completes a track, email your creations (adhering to the theme and rules, of course) to my gmail (deerpresident). Good luck! smile

The ability of some artists to take something rather dull (simple waveforms) and give it soul (kind of like good graffiti on shitty buildings) is what drew me in.
The variety of sounds and genres in a format so limiting, and the staggering amount of GOOD releases, is what keeps me here.

I'm trying to get some special guests on this album. Preferably Piggy users, but I can't PM/e-mail every LGPT power user ever, so I need some suggestions.

I hope we are not being trolled.
If you are sincere, then buy one of these http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Unlimited- … udio+cable , plug one end into the GB's headphone jack, the other into the Mac's input/microphone jack, open Garageband or Audacity, press the red dot (RECORD), and hit start on the GameBoy.
I would suggest first learning how to write a decent song before recording and sharing it with the world.

EDIT: for being unnecessarily rude, I'm sorry.
