Reading that code was like entering the Matrix o_O
Thanks Mat, it was very interesting. I wonder if I will ever sit down to learn C64 asm coding...

I lost the plot after about intro lesson 3 or 4.  It's something I've always meant to come back to.  Although am slowly learning ASM for another console at the moment and it's starting to become clear. :-)

Rob's routines were doubly impressive for their raster time - which was very very low.  Still would be challenging to beat today

It's time for some serious:

Watch out.

Is this the one we recorded that I took to Blip?  I don't remember it having that many tracks!

Man, talk about feeling the pressure!

Good news is today I got my 120v PSU for the Amiga, I've got my laptop working as a PAL TV with a USB thing so I don't have to source a television (which is tricky because most LCD's don't lock onto the Amiga timing), and I've got some new tracks ready to go.  Remixes of JDDJ3J (on Amiga 500), new LSDJ stuffs of which 10k has the only CD copy at the moment (I can't find the file anywhere!), and hopefully some tracks I'll be working on with Sabrepulse.  Which might end up as a release if we get it done.

If anyone wants to catch up in NY, I'm there and probably free 31st - 11th June at some point.  Also back briefly for the JDDJ3J show 22nd - 25th (not playing as far as I know, just chillin!)  I don't have a cell phone yet, but PM me a number and I'll sms everyone once I get one.

So pumped!!

I'm looking forward to it mega time :-)

The scene lives on anyway smile (or does it?1?!)

Lol ++ !!   I know you are only joking, but reality check here in case anyone forgot.  The "scene", or so called chip-scene has been around since the early 80's, certainly on C64. (eg. http://noname.c64.org/csdb/release/view … amp;zoom=1  or  http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=16767)  Cracks had cool tunes on them aaaallll the time.  Demoparties and copy-parties were the popular outlet for such tunes and releases years before the big concert phenomenon that has sprung up in the last decade.  I guess the only difference is that there are now options to play tracks live - although DJ'ing C64's and the like has always existed.  At the end of the day, the core chipscene has always been about the tunes being spread by floppy (1980's) / BBS (1990's) / Internet (2000's) and the community hanging out via cracktro shouts / diskmags / BBS / online / real-world.  I don't see this ending any time soon!

Thumbs up at B-bot for having a shot at putting on a show and taking the chance. Crap that it didn't work out.  At least it has given us all all a glimpse of the possibility of a bigger summer show.  Don't get me wrong - I love Blip - but that snow is f**king cold.

Let us hope this whole situation transpired for a reason.  Will we see something else to happen in it's place...?  I haven't ruled out jumping on a plane just yet as long as the flights stay under $1500.

I'm certainly excited and pumped for this event!  I think the criticism that has been responded to in this thread has answered many of the underlying questions some of us have had.  Issues addressed such as set up time (for artists), a contingency plan for overtime, good sound and visuals, openness to having pre and post parties.

As far as I can tell, most of those boxes are being ticked and everything is in place for a rocking weekend :-)   b3tabot; my hat off to you for staying positive and responding to peoples questions & concerns.  I’m certain most contributors here simply want to make sure the gig has a solid organisational team and goes to plan.

So lets hope that people buy advance tickets in support of this gig.  The initial cash flow is really important for paying outgoings such as artist accommodation and subsidising flights, etc., so I encourage people if they think they are going, to grab a ticket ASAP.  b3tabot: Will there be some kind of incentive system for buying tickets?  CD? Or perhaps a free breakfast?  (DO YOU LIKE…. ah, nevermind)
