Reagrding the shift-N/shift-U I noticed a quirk a while ago, not sure if it's worth fixing though.

So, I think this function scans the playlist for whatever is written into it, but it doesn't skip the FF parameters. So it will assume that whatever position you're jumping to or the loop number are used patterns.

There really isn't a real drawback to this as the tunes get optimised when packed, unless you have used up ALL the available patterns.
But I thought I'd mention it anyway smile

So ilKke, does this mean you are working on something for Syntax Demoparty??  ;-)

See you in Melbourne in a few weeks mate!!

SECRET TECHNOLOGY  8-0

Video coming in next 2 weeks.  Note: this is to dev on the hardware easily. (which is step 1)    Step 2 is actually having a tool to make music.  We've both got some idea on this ;-)

All will be revealed soon. (Step one is 100% my mates work - I gave him lots of moral support and have shot a video!)

Would also love to get some use out of my saturn. Its been hiding in the cupboard since soon after release!

Get ready to perhaps brush the dust off it in 2017... something MAY be coming to allow easy porting to the Saturn.  I shot a video demoing some pretty rad tech.  Just waiting on some screen-shots of the ROM launcher - because I want to actually show it working.  Will keep y'all posted ;-)

Benn Venn is an Australian guy as far as I know?. He might have a Facebook page?

All I can say is My two main DMGs are a nonfinate and a kitch unit... ultra respect to both!!    If the redirects are now blocked then I guess the problem is only that another entity nagged the domains. Marketing agencys (esp offshore) do this kind of thing all the time.  There will be a reason (guessing SEO plan but could be super fanboi) but I personally don't care if it stays between the store fellowship. If it is SEO gone wild, i'm sure Matt won't have an issue making the redirect page a simple link list to all vendors. I'm assuming it's possible to customise the page like a 404?  Love y'all. :-)

I'm so pumped!!!  :-D

Hey mate!

Looks awesome :-)  Are you coming down to Square Sounds Festival (Melbourne) in March?

Would be great to catch up!

On our (old model) we plugged it into the tape drive for power and the diskdrive interface port for coms.

I've only used an SD2iec once and I recall using DOS Wedge on the BASIC startup screen. http://ilesj.wordpress.com/2010/10/04/t … ng-sd2iec/

You'll have to mount the disk image on the SD2iec then power off, put the cart in, and power up again as far as I can guess.  Personally, I use a second C64 and an 1541u to do my saving and loading with the MSSIAH.  Looked at doing the tape load / save thing but it really was just too hard and buggy!

Yes, you just use "Load" and "Save" from the menu and it works fine. :-)

also you can save with a datasette (tape) for c64. i think people into chipmusic like to spend waay too much money on gear and not actually make any tracks with it, for he most part!

Hahahaha.... yeah.  I'm up around $5000 on hardware between flash carts for about 8 platforms and things like Lynx dev kits, etc.  The MSSIAH cart is the one thing I've hardly ever used.  I used it once for a show, and accidently hotplugged something while I was setting up and blew up my SID chip.  I only ever use it in the studio now - maybe once a year - and just sample myself noodling around.

So on that front be super super careful when plugging ANYTHING in or out on the C64 with it powered on and off.

Good to hear you busting out the tunes mate :-)

Just added this thread to the list of reasons I wish I lived in the USA :-P

Great comp mate :-)  Very flowing and also more unusual playlist - had it on at work today.

fuck that's an out of the ark old track by me, but thanks!

LOL mate - I hear you - but nice tune all the same!  Meanwhile I was 12 or 13 when I wrote my track.  Didn't even know that particular first gen track was available as MOD source.  Unless Radlib, I drunkenly dumped you a folder of all my old MOD's.... did that happen?!

Wicked!  Grabbing the rom now. Does it go on forever or will it eventually "break"?

If by break, you mean repeat, yes it will repeat after maybe a few minutes.
If by break, you mean crash, no it won't crash. Maybe if you rip out the cartridge it will crash. Maybe.

But if by break, you mean BRK ...

An interesting experiment with single waveform samples on the SNES :-)  Checking tuning issues for short samples and also Ferris been optimising play routine so it plays more consistently.

Now have multiple test units / revisions + NTSC for proper testing.  Next stage a-happening.  Will keep you updated in the new year!

Hey mate - hit up Batsly Adams in about a month about this ;-)

I'm in the midst of totally breaking his (heavily modified) VGM player with all sorts of crazy experiments.  What are you using it for? Is this a one off set of tracks or are you just trying to play VGM rips?

This is going to be rad.  It's a head screw moving between emulated trackers and hardware with so many things that are slightly different!  Especially the slightly differing tunings and sample weirdness.

Can't wait to get this ROM in the mega drive and give it a go!

Cheers Erik.  This a great piece of software :-)
