Re: Display rot (14 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
the LCD screens have been done for some time. I expected to have them out a LONG time ago, but the whole project was really, really ambitious and I ran into all sorts of issues which just weighed progress entirely down. my eyes were bigger than my stomach, as they say.
so, i decided that instead of releasing the project as i'd like at first it'd be best to get a basic version (same functionality as the original LCD board, not much more) out now, and then build upon that rather than the other way around. besides, i think most people would be in for the basic version anyways.
so, that is whats going on with those. at this very moment I've got the latest revision being assembled right now and it should be straightforward tbh. its not nearly as difficult at this point, and this aspect I've gotten working before easily it was mainly the video out that was giving me the headache. so, all-in-all, it will be just like before... there will be multiple variations and prices depending on the features, but rather than have them released all at the outset like I've been intending, I'll be releasing them as new-improved versions but still make/support the basic varieties. in the end, there will be the exact same products in the shop. just sooner and staggered, not later and all-at-once. this also decreases the support/etc load, because the basic version won't do much more than work or not work, and the install is obvious.
sorry about all the delays. its annoying to me much more than it is to you, believe me... i want nothing more to get these wrapped up!

Ninten Kwon Do, please message one of the staff here and let us know which account you'd like to use. we will be closing the other.
please don't create multiple active accounts.
let us know which one you'd like closed, or we'll just pick one if we don't hear back from you, thanks!
*** if these are in fact two separate people using the same name, let us know that as well. we'll clear this up, thanks! its easy enough to sort out. its either multiple active accounts by one person, or another person pretending to be another member, either way we'll get that straightened out.
you can find who is staff at the link on the bottom of any page. i'd suggest contacting either nitro2k01 or myself, we're actually here regularly enough to notice the message

nope! i use a flat rate system. even for the methods that don't actually have a flat rate price at the post, i flat rate economy too based off some calculations i do. the rate hasn't needed to be adjusted for the last couple quarters when i've re-evaluated.
so, yeah, $7 is right, sorry about the confusion!

they aren't wide enough, unfortunately
but i'm just gonna do kits for them i think, the loca method in installation made enough of a difference for me i think its warranted now. its a little costly. i'm mulling over some other changes to the design and testing some things out and don't want to do a GBA model that instantly needs to be updated to match the changes, so might just wait to do them when the general frontlight changes happen
