Edit:just to be clear I'm not asking for your headphones but suggesting you send them to our friend here for postage. Karma is real. Goodwill is real. This community constantly gets raped out of it. Everyone doing their part means a ton to me.

I appreciate the good intentions but i don't expect this of anyone! I'm more than happy to give my goods and services in return for someone elses!

headphones are disassembled right now but they are these puppies.

There's a little corrosion (or maybe just fuzzy stuff?) in one of the pots/dials (aw yeah separate volume controls!) and that ear doesn't work, but they might function with a lil' cleaning.

stargazer, I'm in eastern WA, US. That work for ya?

They are BEAUTIFUL. If you're taking stargazer's e-reader then is there anything else in particular you're looking for? I'd love to steal those headphones off you!

Now that I think about it, I could probably fit Kirby Tilt n' Tumble in a normal cart, too...

Kirby Tilt n' Tumble is a different shape to conventional gameboy carts. The biggest problem with swapping the case with other games is the fact that the Kirby game has two screws on the back as opposed to one, requiring you to cut the cart pcb in order to fit it.

Have you tried wedging something behind the cart to ensure the pins are making contact?

I have tried cleaning its contacts with alcohol, I also used an eraser to rub on them but it is still not working.

Do you think that may be the resistor or the capacitor that can be seen in the picture of the board need to be replaced?

I'd replace them just to be safe. Maybe touch up the solder on the chip pins aswell. If none of that works, i'm afraid you're more than likely out of luck.

I just picked up a GB Memory cart on ebay the other week! Wasn't cheap though!

I had the exact same problem with one of my pokemon red carts. I filled a bowl with a little bit of isocol (isopropyl alcohol) and then placed the cart in it to soak for half hour. Then i got some Q-tips and scrubbed at the contacts. It was working fine afterwards!

Although a lot of pirate carts (like that one) degenerate over time and end up not working. I have 3 that won't work / partially work.
Good luck!

The ground point that you have it hooked up to is fine. What power source have you soldered it to?
For the +5v power source, you can solder the wire to the capacitor below the screen, or you can feed it through the back and connect it to the back PCB as seen here: .

I personally have had a few problems soldering to the capacitor and now generally solder it to the back PCB. Good luck! Let us know how it goes!

What your problem is seems to be the ribbon cable. In order to connect the ribbon the the back PCB you have to bend it and push it in, but after doing that a few times, the metal inside the ribbons can snap and cause it to disconnect. There's no solution other than amputating a cable from another gameboy and resoldering it in. It can be really difficult due to the awkward placement of the ribbon's solder behind the LCD. Ill link you to the thread where I attempted the same thing (I believe luftek did it well!). Bare with me!
