Re: Amiga MIDI sequencing (4 replies, posted in Commodore Computers)
i havent actually used it or owned an amiga for ages but OctaMED SoundStudio is really popular and it is a tracker so should be fairly like renoise
and according to wikipedia it was used to produce "super sharp shooter" by dj zinc and "renegade snares" by omni trio which are both like All Time Classic Bangers
i think you would need one of the more advanced amigas to run it though (4000? 1200? idk) and i don't believe any of the amigas have midi built in so you would need to find a midi interface
take that with a pinch of salt as as i say i havent used it

Re: Looping short samples? (4 replies, posted in General Discussion)
this entirely depends what software you are using!
it doesn't make sense to unloop them and save all the looped wavs to disk because they still might not be long enough and you can always loop them in your tracker/DAW/whatever you are using
so best just leave them really short and let the people who download it loop them
what software are you using yourself? maybe someone here will know how to set up loop points in that for when you play it back

Re: New equipment suggestions? [help] (12 replies, posted in General Discussion)
i don't have any specific suggestions but i wanna say
IMHVO i think novel interfaces are a lot more value for money than novel sounds... new sounds will change the way your music sounds, but a new interface will change your music, the way you make your music, maybe even you
for the same price you'd get more out of a weird new kind of sequencer than you would out of a guitar pedal, i reckon. unless you have a specific vision for what sounds you want, in which case go for it

Re: Started making tunez using Sid-wizard (2 replies, posted in Constructive Criticism)
i think there are actually a lot of decent melodic ideas but the rhythm is so, so relentless and there's not much repetition which makes it easy to get lost
the arps at the start don't sound totally in key with the bassline either
if it was me i would vary the rhythm and maybe the bass sound to make it a bit less overpowering. it sounds almost like a march as it is!
but it is not bad for an early song

Re: WeeklyTreats 2015: Full Zip Now Available~ (92 replies, posted in Releases)
Some sad news: We're ending the WeeklyTreats project early.
Before we do that though, we'll be back in September releasing all the singles we have stockpiled, closing in all finality by the 19th of September. These 'round up' singles won't be released once a week, instead just whenever we want, but after that we're finito !
Some happier news: The Treats name is not dead! Whilst we're no longer a curation team within the chip scene, we do have plans in the oven for a new project using Treats outside of the scene, hopefully appearing sometime in 2016 ~ ~ ~
All the best and thanks for your support over the years!
