Interested to know how the solder paste works. I too have always used wire. I saw someone use a toaster oven as a reflow oven then just clean it up after. If that makes smt soldering that easy, holy cow my life is complete.

This video is very long, but very useful. I may make one just like it if I can borrow the GF's camera.

I will not be using our toaster oven.

Nice Apple ][e! Especially digging the second disk drive.

THANKS I MADE IT MYSELF! big_smile

I am actually going to send away a board that I designed (someone else programmed it) which accepts an SD card and emulated a floppy drive. I will be loading games from SD in no time. cool

Yes it is. I may use it while populating some boards since I am purchins solder paste. I have always used solder wire, so we'll see how it goes.
Both the gun and iron have pot-controlled temperatures and LED readouts.

Boards are already being shipped to me! That was faster than expected! I can't wait to share photos.

Unfortunately, Mouser emptied my cart and saved carts! WTF? It will only take me 10 more minutes to build it back up, but WTF?

Also as of Friday, I am the proud owner of one of this:

Now I just have to clean my desk...

I guess I am late to request one "complete and ready to go kit", right?

Still waiting on your response to the PM. roll
I have the second board I ordered for myself which could be yours, but I need to know how many of the components to order from Mouser.

I thought the minute you tune white noise it ceases to be white noise. Pink or brown?

lol....right. roll

Noise spectrum changer, more like?

EDIT: Grey noise is prettiest. tongue

I like the idea of a tuneable white noise generator. It requires a white noise input though...
Little-scale has written some nice stuff about EEPROM music, so I suggest you have a read:

I can imagine using a serial eeprom with 2kbits of storage and a pic chip of sorts to have it spit out your 4-bit+ sample. Cheap as all hell, but may require some work and programming on your end. Once you got that worked out, you could then feed it into your tuner as posted above.

In case anyone is wondering, the files have been sent away. I am still waiting on them to be audited by the staff.

Rubbing alcohol and Q-tips; just keep trying. Let some set on the residue for a few memnts and try to scrap it off with your straight edge.

Never use nail polish remover, acetone, goo gone, goof-off or any other solvent unless you ant to dissolve anything plastic that comes in contact.

Long, long time lurker here, just registered to see if I could still get in on this for the first batch.

I'll be cutting it close if I do, but that's how I live these days.

Need one of these desperately as Reinerziegler.de has been down for a few days now (much to my horror) and there seem to be nil other plans on the net which I can find.

I can solder the SMT IC's easy with my reflow station, so if you can, put me down for 1x blank board.

I'll send payment through asap if I make it in on this batch.

I'm in Australia also so International shipping for me.

Thanks for your work, and props to this awesome community!

You're safe, but only because I set aside enough money for a second board myself. tongue
in any case, one board with international shipping will be 42.85 USD. Steep, but worth it if you can justify the shipping cost.
I will PM you for payment address.

Are you looking to make your way into the GB-modder's crowd? I am looking for way out; or "up and out" to be more honest. I see gameboy modding to be more of a mechanic's job whereas I am the engineering type. I will not be leaving the chip community, but I am much more interested in "creation" rather than "supplementing."

I have long considered selling off my massive collection of gameboys, screws, drivers, backlights, etc.
