that is me haha, I posted here a while ago about this issue, I kinda just set it aside until recently, I brought it back out checked everything and and checked all the connections and still the same problem, that would actually be extremely helpful, it wouldn't be a big deal if I just had to buy a nano or an uno

the button is pictured in the first picture, I don't think there's anything wrong with it considering I can change modes and everything

I'll look and see if people have trouble with their arduino maybe taking a while to boot up and I'll double check the pins on the link cable too. That still wouldn't explain the midi in not working though.
EDIT: the pins on the link cable are correct and I re-uploaded the code again, the status LED doesn't blink for as long but it's still a good 10-15 seconds which is still longer than what I've seen other arduinoboys do. Is it possible that the arduino is bad? I'm going to try re-downloading the code and then uploading it to see if that makes a difference.

I don't remember, but I might have, so I will try and upload the code again with the arduino completely disconnected, here's the link cable, I checked all the connections with a multimeter so I think it's good

EDIT: I reuploaded the code onto the arduino after disconnecting the arduino from the breadboard and then reconnected and tested everything again, it's doing the same exact thing, the LED's light up and do their thing and I can switch modes but nothing else. The status LED flashes for a good 30 seconds to a minute before the LED's light up in sequence however, I'm pretty sure that's not normal. It doesn't make a difference that I'm using a arduino micro does it?

yes, that's the issue, I'm sending midi data, either through the gameboy or my Korg electribe MX and the LED's don't light up

it's powered through the mini-usb, I'm not powering it through the Gameboy

So this is my first time making an arduinoboy however I am not inexperienced with electronics and I've done some simple DMG mods and stuff but I might be in a bit over my head here. I've followed all the schematics and everything, I have all the parts right but the arduinoboy doesn't work.
Well it works as in it turns on and the LED's light up like the should in the beginning (though the status LED flashes for a lot longer than I've seen on other arduinoboys) and when I press the button it cycles through the modes just fine.
HOWEVER when I try to plug in anything such as my Gameboy or Korg Electribe MX none of the LED's light up, I've tried all modes and LSDJ on all sync modes as well and nothing. I've switched around the diode, switched out opto-isolators, and the pins on the female 5 pin connector and still nothing. I'm really not sure what's wrong.

that doesn't do anything, the electribe plays but no LED's light up and LSDJ still says wait, same with LSDJ as the master the korg won't start playing and LSDJ plays but no LED's light up. Does the fact that I'm using an arduino micro make any difference, like to the pins change at all?

I'm not trying to use those I just want the DMG to run as slave or master which are both settings I have on LSDJ and I set everything to the right setting on the arduinoboy too, does anyone know if I still need the unofficial LSDJ release if I just want to use the slave and master settings?
I checked my connections and they're good, I don't know if the fact that I'm using an arduino micro makes a difference (I'm pretty sure it shouldn't but I could be wrong) I tested all three of my DMG's so it's not a Gameboy issue. I'm just very confused because it seems everything works except my inputs
edit: I checked my connections with the link cable plugged into the gameboy and touched one end to the pin inside the gameboy and the other to the corresponding wire so the connection is good there. I reloaded the code onto the arduino and still nothing. Neither the korg or LSDJ cause the status light to light up at any point in any mode. Again I am using an arduino micro, does that change the pins at all? And like I said the status LED blinks for a really long time before doing the arduino start up thing, in all the videos I've seen of arduinoboys none of them did that. I'd really appreciate some feedback cause I don't want to find out I've wasted $80 on this project

checked the midi connection with another device still nothing, I don't have a multimeter with me right now but I will do that when I can
edit: if it makes a difference the arduino takes a while before the LED's do the sequential lighting up thing they do on start up, and I could be wrong but I don't need the unofficial arduinoboy release of LSDJ to use LSDJ slave and master do I?

So I just built my first arduinoboy and it works, the LED's light up like they ought to and I can change modes and all that HOWEVER when trying to sync LSDJ to my korg electribe MX nothing happened. I'm not sure if there are settings I need to change on the korg or LSDJ (I set LSDJ sync to slave and master but is there anything else?). The status LED does not light up when I have the korg plugged into the midi in or when LSDJ is in master mode. I switched the two wires that connect the midi in jack because I did have them wrong initially but still nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated
