trying to jack my shit, FOR SHAME

also guys, i'm sorry the first game i did music for is super complicated

Okay, so I've been talking about this a bit on facebook, but it's finally out! A combination RTS and Arena Shooter game, free for windows!

This is the beta release, future versions will have more tracks from me. I'll be updating this thread once I've got more of those tracks done and have the OST up on bandcamp.

The soundtrack is made up of three main elements. FamiTracker, SNES soundfonts, and the Famicom soundfont, which are then mixed and mastered in Ableton. When I'd start with FamiTracker, I would just export the channels separately and line them up in Ableton, and then beef 'em up with the SNES soundfonts. But when I started with the SNES stuff, it was a pain to try to add stuff to that through FT, so that's when the Famicom soundfont would come into play.

There aren't very many "full" tracks in the beta, in future versions I'll have written more overworld tracks. For the OST release I'll have the original game versions (looping tracks), arranged versions, early demo tracks (so you can see how the songs progressed), and unused alternate tracks and demos.

GET THAT GAME

waiting to see how this turns out to be a spambot

It kind of makes sense, I mean, how long has it been going on? the farthest back i can find info on is 2007, but i know they've been going on longer than that. so we should assume that there's been at least 80 of them. And each month is curated by a different person, so after a while I'm guessing people lost interest in putting all the work into getting one together, especially cause (at least it seemed) that less and less people were showing up, in favor of I/O.

have you tried searching a combination of the words printed on the cartridge

i'd like to nominate this for cool story of the year, bro

Really, though, the best way to learn is to LURK MORE.

(I know that is kind of a dickish way to put it, but I really wanted to say it before Saskrotch.)

i would never say "lurk more".

you should focus on writing music instead of worrying about your name for now. try writing a melody that isn't a set of 4 notes repeating over and over again.
