Hopefully I can build a functional little system for about £600-700 to begin with ( Modular sampler big_smile )
My shopping list amounts to about £1300 so far though, and it's only going to get bigger. May have to look into building my own to reduce costs!

remember you're going to need 5v power for any MI stuff.  some power supplies supply it and other don't.

you're based in the UK so for DIY stuff Thonk is the way to go.

if you're looking for a nice looking wooden case i can't speak highly enough of ross lamond.

dude's stuff looks ace and he even flew over to the US for a modular meetup earlier this month.  super cool dude.

A little bird told me it might be coming back in a few weeks.

trying to be pretty thorough with that sort of thing (protections and whatnot).  hoping you all will be pleased

can you let more details out? smile Cartridge slot? clock sync?

i know right!

awesome

another thing to consider is the price of mastering.  if you're going to get it pressed and you're not planning on having it mastered by someone who has experience mastering for vinyl you're doing a huge disservice to anyone you're selling to.

and what TSS said.

oh fuck yes!!

I've used Sennheiser HD 280 pro for years and have never been dissatisfied.  In fact, I sometimes monitor with them exclusively because of how incredibly unbiased (yet articulate) they are.  The price may have gone down since I bought them 4+ years ago, but I got them new for $100 and they have been worth every penny and then some.

i've been rocking a pair of HD280s for over 10 years now and still love them.

monoprice has a pretty cheap pair of cans that got great reviews on tapeop.  i haven't tried them but for the price it'd be worth checking out
