That Conet Project (Numbers Stations) is fucking incredible. I'd heard of the backwards music channel but didn't really research it. Thanks for posting that link (and everything else) Mr. muB!

Simply amazing. I'll be using this a lot soon.
Not sure how many of you are Kontakt users but lately, I've been surfing for free Kontakt samples/instruments and I've turned up quite a number that I'd like to share. There has been more than one list compiled on the net in the past, but not for a long time and they all contain many dead links. I haven't tried all of the samples listed below yet, but the ones I have heard sound great. All of them are interesting and/or useful IMHO.
Kantele (Finnish zither instrument)

Tongue drums and Magnus chord organ (air organ)
http://audiogeneticslab.com/
Djembe (African goblet drum) samples are mapped with the center of the drum head at C3. As you move up or down, you are moving out towards the rim with C2 and C4 as the rim shots!

TONS of free packs, including Bavarian Zither, Medieval Psaltery, accordion, harmonica and ocarina, plus a bunch of experimental percussion sets made from every day objects and granular synthesis. You have to sign up for a customer account, but I think it's worth it.

Created by sound designer Erik Ekholm, 4 packs of pads, dark atmosphere, hits and loops for sound design and composition

Melodica!

Many great free packs, not the least of which include the incredible Hammond Novachord
http://www.hollowsun.com/HS2/freepacks/index.htm
A pack of three instruments, two of which are pads. But the one that interested me the most was ArabFlutist, a flute tuned to a harmonic minor third.

Haven't really posted much in the way of drums, because I haven't been looking for that sort of thing but there are a lot of them out there. If any one is interested I can dig some up.

Trash 80 recommended me the fantastic twisted wave editor - which has a free 30 day trial and, in the file menu, open from youtube.
The quality isn't perfect, but you can get TONS TONS TONS of unique samples through this.
Synth demos, some dude showing off his 808, weird chicks trying to sing...

Thanks for the tip! I have been looking for a Mac-compatible replacement for my current wave editors, which include an ancient (but still functional) version of Sound Studio and Audacity (which is very unstable for some reason.)
