Hi,

do you guys know where I could find some cool patches of different wav basses, in order to get a ''mental library'' of possible sound palet ?
have no access to the patchbook app...

I will have to create/modify my rythms and bass lines quickly during our first jam sessions (not started yet, waiting to get more comfortable on LSDJ) to match with the other instruments (tabla, guitar, flute, didgeridoo, yeah!), so i'd like to select some ''standard'' settings that could pass in various situations (and fine adjusting later at home) in order not to loose a lot of time/credibility...

stupid question :  did anyone ever try to use bass samples on wav channel with good result ?

Here are a few patches Ive saved. They aren't all wav bass patches but feel free to check them out.

I wrote some tutorials that talk about the WAV channel and have examples of some hand drawn wave shapes you might have fun experimenting with:

I sometimes use samples of real instruments on the WAV channel. I don't think it would be a good fit for bass tones, though. The samples lose clarity and you can program some really great bass sounds on the WAV channel already.

Wav Synth is the hardest but most awesome part about LSDJ in my opinion.
If it's not loud enough, crank Start Vol en End Vol.

1) Loop 1 note (length F, speed 6+ depending on BPM).
2) Go to synth screen.
3) Shift one parameter up and down.
4) Repeat step 3 forever.

guys, thanks so much for all of this!!

I wrote some tutorials that talk about the WAV channel

yes, your tutorials are the best things that happened on the net since the invention of porn...
I do refer to all of them all the time (i stick on épisode 4 and 5 at the moment) and beyond the obvious technical quality of the information, I truly enjoy the writing style!

Wav Synth is the hardest but most awesome part about LSDJ in my opinion.

yep, even kind of scary to be honest

at the end my real concern is not really to acheive the best bass sound ever, I got plenty of time to engage on the path of perfectionnism... i'm searching for something simple and efficient

in a few days, i'll have to go to a jam session and the fact of being able to throw a cool, spontaneous beat and bass among the other instruments will kind of decide of ''chip or not to chip'' into the future formation (i'm not scared about my performance on the flute)

yes, i'm a kind of a chip jedi  \o/

... who does though not even know yet if he's going to use this fucking wave channel for bass or beat... (because, yes, i LOVE wav kicks too)

style will most propably turn arround ethno-dub that sometimes goes on punky jungle/dubstep
beats should be very simple (kick-snare-HH) not to orvecome tablas and cajon... bass should not get into (too much of a) conflict with the didgeridoo...

sigh...

wav  bass and didge would probably go really well together, like in unison or using the didge to create crazy overtones
