I really enjoy chiptune music when it represents feelings like joy and happiness.

Do you guys can recommend an artist/a group that goes into this direction? (besides the obvious stuff like anamanaguchi, rymdcraft, roccow...)

Some songs that I put into this category are:

Disasterpeace - Win
chibi-tech - Love Is Insecurable
Henry Homesweet - Simple Pleasures, Summer Smiles
Anamanaguchi - Endless Fantasy, Meow (well, actually nearly every song of them lol)

just to name a few

Hope you can show me some super duper uber hyper happy chip stuff : >
peace guys smile

Isn't this just most chiptune? I've always found it difficult to break away from the general "happy chiptune" stigma. I strive to try and make my stuff stand apart from this. That may just be me though.
Anyway I would suggest checking out anything by "(T_T)b" their release on pterodactyl squad is awesome!

DBOYD - sunshine. for a lonely heart.

My all-time favorite sugar-sweet song. Give it a listen.

Definitely just you. There are entire labels full of dozens of artists doing dark chiptunes. There's about as much that is happy as there is that is heavy or dancy or jazzy or anything else.

Much of the 'golden era' chip music - tunes written for 8-bit era games and software - was happy as it was often aimed at kids but since beginning the wider production of chip music it's gone in every imaginable direction.

For sure within the scene there is amazing variety! But I mean to the general public they immediately make the connection with "videogame music" like mario and shit. That's what I meant. I think I was generalizing though. My bad.

Digging (T_T)b, and I think you'd also like Melt Channel.
Awesome, cheery and qualitative music.

I've started noticing this with some chip gigs as well though; there tends to be less emphasis on experimental/dark stuff and more happy hardcore/EDM, which is fun and all, but maaan I want to go to a chip doom gig or something, ha!

Oh dang it; how could I forget Summer Fun by Low-Gain? Good happy vibe right there! The live version on the Blip Fest 08 CD is great too.
