I have two EMS USB cartridges, both in working order (powers on, retains saves, etc.). However, whenever I plug them in, they are not recognized at all even when having gone through all of the driver signature hoops on Windows. I have also tried ems-qart and at least one other method on Linux (Pop_OS) to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I've tried different cables and have even jiggled the plugged in cables around a bit to make sure it wasn't a loose connection. The carts are probably about 10 years old at this point, and I don't know how well they're supposed to hold up. I'm considering running a soldering iron over the pins to see if there's a loose connection between the port and the cart board proper, but I'm unsure if that would work. Would someone give me advice on any possible fixes?

Yep. Try GB cart tool for Adroid, it's the easiest way. But no multiple games per cart..

Wanted to report that I tried this and it worked!! Thank you so much!

The only drawback to using the cart tool is that my Android version is too recent to transfer a ROM to or from the cart. Any solution to that short of downgrading the Android OS?

Well, now you know your cart is working (probably).
You can buy old winxp netbook, but why.. only for this?
or you can try to install drivers again.

I've done it few weeks ago, but don't remember EXACTLY how I did it.
1.
Perform advancer boot menu:
https://support.viewsonic.com/en/suppor … windows-10
2.
plug EMS cart
3.
go to device manager
(Win+R / type devmgmt.msc) or:
https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-open-de … er-2626075
4.
You should see there EMS cart (under USB devices)
Right click and remove it?
5.
(Reconnect it?)
EMS cart should appear as unknown device
6.
right click + install drivers from PC location
and navigate to your drivers
(warning about unsigned driver should appear, so install anyway)
7.
run EMS GB_USB transfer program

This should make it

But again, I don't remember EXACTLY how to perform this
