ChipMusic.org / Kuma's Profile
Hello there, everyone. My name's Adam, but everyone probably knows me as Kuma. I'm a novice chiptuner who composes music as a hobby but would like to perform on a big stage one day, although, again, for fun. While some of my friends and acquaintances have seen success via music production, I don't see it as something I would be doing. at least not as my primary source of income.
That being said, aside from teaching myself how to make music on my psp or laptop with piggy tracker and sunvox, respectively, I'm also a regular face on the Chiptunes=WIN facebook page and even blog for them. I do album reviews, artist interviews and track breakdowns. the column I'm perhaps best known for is my (mostly) weekly column--Raw Cuts--in which I interview artists in the scene. So far, I've interviewed SKGB, Compy Core, Decktonic, Jay Tholen and Dire Hit, and soon my column will expand to interviewing vgm artists as well as visualists and photographers in the scene.
more than anything else, I'm just in this to have fun and to give back to the community. Chiptunes came into my life in the form of Blipfest 2012 when I was at a very low point in my life. Suicidal, in fact. I have no shame in admitting that. that being said, the people I've met in the scene and the music I've heard from it have kept me alive and kept me going, and for that, I thank you. Hopefully I can give back to you guys the way you have to me.
