why buy hardware to "live with" those issues when emulation is more accurate and free (assuming you have a handheld to emulate on).  native nes emulated sound on the dingoo is pretty good and then you have a mp3/media player and piggy console at your fingertips (i also have lebowski on mine for good measure)!  and it's way smaller than that fugly thing w/ a cart hanging out of it!

EDIT:

As for the Noac, here are just a few problems: Timing. BIG timing problems, non-uniform channel detuning. Timbre differences, and the complete lack of an audio filtering circuit. In short, they really do sound like garbage. Also, that's just for the NTSC versions; if you get a PAL NOAC it gets even worse.

EDIT: if I ever find the parts/time/get around to it, I'm thinking of taking a famicom mobo, which is tiny but %100 accurate, and making a handheld out of it. It'd be far nicer than a whole toaster, and better than a NOAC by far.

I'd like to keep up on this. An affordable portable nes for this would be of interest

WOW MAN!

I can't, as much as I want to sad

Just in the middle of fixing a few things with Pitch Bends and also tidying up the Live Play feature a bit. Then I need to do some testing and then I've a few edits to do on the manual.

As much as I love you all, I also want NTRQ to be in reasonable shape for V1.0 - the thought of being overwhelmed with support/help requests fills me with dread and it's no good for the end user either.

Soon.....very, very soon....
