i could be wrong but i think those are bends done on video files which were then converted to gif post bend, i agree it is a sweet look
i did something like this back in 2009 i picked up this super old vcr and i circuit bent it with potentiometers on different mechanisms of the vcr like the head, tracking, motor speed and rewind/fast foward and then i had a camera set up to take pictures... unfortunately the computer i had all of those pics on died a horrible death and i lost a shit ton of art/music that i didnt have backed up in the cloud.. i feel once the yard sale season comes back imma hunt me down another vcr and do the same and run the video into a pc so i can record it.. i do have a vhs still that i dubbed off of that vcr with the movie solar babies glitched to hell and i ran stereo to rca into the vcr dubbing the video with alec empires album the destroyer playing so you got the glitched video then a bunch of grimie old school breakcore as the audio... i definitely will upload that and post it here when i get the whole thing set up
this is a pretty good example of what im talking about
also this is just fucking cool

All very awesome. I'm fooling around with gifs at the moment. It takes a lot of work to bend each image then rebuild it to make it look smooth and not just a buncha quick glitchy changes.
This was originally a gif by Lacie (lulinternet). Databent the images with Amadeus Pro using gradually increasing and decreasing distortion filter rates. Lower ones created more white and black. Higher allowed for more colour saturation:

now thats some serious sh1t right there... get outta this amatuer thread! maybe someone should make a databent dropbox thread like the pixel art jawn?
I've been doing a bunch of databending for the past few years. Recently I've been getting more into pixel-sorting though.
Great for album art! Haha.

Yeah! Pixel sorting rules. It gets a little hairy and really difficult to predict how certain processes will effect the image, but I have a blast with it.
