You don't even know how much I can agree with this statement.

Most likely dual LSDJ.

If not then he's using a ghost channel:

It sounds a bit like she's using a lot of Zef's techniques. You can get his sav files when you download Parallel Processing.

Sounds like vibrato. Probably with a different vibrato type than the standard. Could be a table with some p commands. This thread is kinda fun now. haha.

https://soundcloud.com/treyfrey/phantas … of-refresh This is a better example, that super phasey synth right after the intro about 30 seconds in. It's so beautiful and I've only heard treyfrey really nail this sound. also dem kicks

That seems unlikely to me- Chibi uses the NES for her tracks, which doesn't have the same WAV channel capabilities that LSDJ gives you. If I understand correctly, her songs use some special custom code and make use of some expansion channels on the NES to get those insane wobble sounds.

That being said, Zef/Danimal's sav files are a goldmine for LSDJ sound design and people should absolutely check them out. I've dug into them a little bit myself tbh.

I'm pretty sure she uses FamiTracker, which doesn't require any programming know-how to make use of those extra VRC channels. Also: DPCM for them drums.

Right. I'm just saying most of the wav tricks that Zef applies in his songs don't apply on the NES.

Hey!

The .sav was included in the digital copy of Spectra but I've just discovered that the link is broken. Here it is:

It really bugs me you lost the Something Beautifull ones. I love how all the channels sounds so great together, and just want to look at that harmony. HHHHHNNNNNNNGGGGG

Thanks for delivering, I overlooked that download
EDIT: sounds great as well, holy balls.

That sounds like several pulse channels playing a chord with really high V command values to roughen up the sound to me.  like VF6-ish with the vibrato type set at high frequency.  He might modulate the V commands to create a more organic phase-y sound too.

It also sounds like there is a bit of filter sweep going on there. Trey does use some post-DMG fx from time to time, so you have to take that into account.

i think chibi-techs wobble sounds are very much to do with engine speed (which can be customized within FT)... could be wrong though

I see. That sounds like a really intense Vibrato command such as V86 or something along those lines, with some pulse width modulation. And of course there's a post production filter on it as well.
