So I found this thread again by accident and I guess this was the closest thing I'll ever get to talking to Kool Skull...

Just bumping this thread to say THIS ALBUM IS BEAUTIFUL
I love seeing all this Nanoloop stuff on the forum these last few days. Really interesting performance, by the way. I never imagined a bass clarinet sounding so good with 8-bit music and synths.
This explains everything...
KOOL SKULL LIVES!!! I am grabbing this ASAP

I fucked around with this a bit, and it yielded some VERY usable results! It seems like I will rely HEAVILY on the S channel for my compositions. Thanks for the advice. Does everybody use straight-forward pulse kicks and noise hats/snares in nanoloop, or is there something that I'm not seeing as far as drum sounds go?
I at one point experimented with making a song ENTIRELY in the S channel; it sucked, but I got a weird little kick drum and bleep-bloop snare sound out of it that I forget how to replicate.... Other than that I only know how to use the noise channel for drums, but if someone else knows a better tip please share.
I make a lot of "chipthrash" on Nanoloop and have gotten some heavy and messed up sounds, albeit I'm a total noob and nowhere near as good as the Shitbird example. But here's a tip: Go into the S channel, and just go insane in the wave editor (try to get your wave form to have a lot of extreme changes in spikes and low points if that makes sense). Then set the notes to a low octave, and add some pitch bend effects if you want. You can get some "growling" noises doing that (or some crazy static/percussive noises if you use pitch bend right). Anyway sorry for rambling. Good luck! We need more Nanoloop chipmusic...
Edit: oh wait, you commented on my EP so I kind of know you lol (directed to DeerPresident). Well hopefully my little tip helped.
16 wave forms? Variable pattern length? IT'S EVERYTHING I'VE EVER HOPED FOR IN LIFE (I'm a little late on finding out about this update, clearly)!
Chipmusic in five easy steps:
1) Get a gameboy moded. If you spend less than 300 bucks in parts, it's not chipmusic.
2) Get a CMO account and ask what is chip music.
3) Get familiar with this spiral: http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/10613 ty/page/3/
4) Post about how you want to make this community and chipmusic known to the world and how your youtube channel is going to change all our lives
5) Give up on all the bullshit, make some music, post it on bandcamp, be happy if you make 20$ with it.
Hey, I only live like 90 minutes away but I don't think I'll be able to go... I MEAN THATS FINE I DIDNT WANT TO GO EXPERIENCE CHIPPY GOODNESS OR ANYTHING AND IM NOT CRYING RIGHT NOW
One of the original and still unequaled chipthrash albums was made with Nanoloop: http://datathrash.bandcamp.com/album/dropping-a-deuce
Didn't know he made that with nanoloop! Ok I stand corrected then
Grabbing this to check out on my lunch break!

Don't worry about that. The streaming quality on Bandcamp is kinda low but when someone downloads the album they get high quality in whatever format they choose.
Oh that's good. BTW I'll probably change the rights to Creative Commons if anyone even cares.
Nanoloop chipthrash? Fuck yes!!!! This is fantastic! More? Please?
Glad you liked it! Yeah, I noticed that virtually NO Nanoloop chipthrash exists (or really much Nanoloop chipmusic either AMIRITE GUYS?), so I took it upon myself to make some lol. Nanoloop needs some love...
Wholesome Family Music, inspired by Kool Skull, Wizwars, and similar artists, has released a debut EP with 4 tracks, filled with "chipthrash" music that is noisy, fast-paced, and, at times, a little chaotic. And best of all, it's free! You can download the EP (or any individual songs you want) on Bandcamp.
Programmed on a Gameboy running Nanoloop v1.6.3 and edited and mastered in Garageband.

Hi CM.O (Warning: I'm not very good with greetings...),
I'm Wholesome Family Music, my real name being Dom (probably easier to type). I've been interested in chipmusic and electronic music in general for quite awhile now, my favorite chip artist probably being Kool Skull at the moment. I'm considerably a newb to chipmusic, but I love making it, and have been coming up with a lot of noisy, fast-paced "chipthrash" as my style. I even have a free little demo EP on Bandcamp if you're interested.
Well, I'm excited to finally talk to other chipmusicians, and I'll stop with this really bad greeting now.
