I just installed one of the new Pink LEDx3(VB) backlights into one of my Black DMGs and it looks f*cking amazing.

The LEDx3(VB) backlight was much easier to install than any other backlight that I've used and I will definitely be putting LEDx3(VB) backlights into my other DMGs.

(I also like how you don't have to remove the Battery LED, how you don't need to solder a resistor onto the positive wire, how you the wires are extra long so you can choose where you want to solder them to the DMGs PCB, and how nothing wiggles around because the polarized film is attached to the backlight and both sides of the plastic that holds the LCD in place are left intact.)

Thank you so much Kitsch!

(I wish there were an easier way to remove the film from the DMGs LCD because this is always the hardest part when installing any backlight.)

Your ROM is in the MN_GameBoy folder and the filename is MN_iNFOTOXIN-160x140.gb

I just figured out how to make fullscreen static image GB ROMs that are 160x140pixels, they can have up to 4 colors(Black,White,Lite Grey, Dark Grey) but I think they look best with just Black and White.

They take me a good amount of time and effort to make so I will not be accepting every request, as always feel free to request one but remember serious requests only.

(and if you send me a Play it Loud DMG GameBoy your request will become my top priority ^_^)

^_^

(I'm actually the highly skilled person who made that custom fullscreen static image GB ROM. But it really looks awesome, right?)

OMG! that looks awesome!

(And it looks like some highly skilled person must have spent a lot of time making that custom fullscreen static image GB ROM for you.)

Its your project, do whatever you want with it.

I would love to read over the Munchausen cartridge information.

And It would be a shame if the Munchausen cartridge information and software got lost in the abyss, I would release it into the wild and hope that it finds a good home.

Keeping your life together is important.

If you don't keep it together you may never finish this project and that would seriously be depressing. ^_^

Just keep at it and take all the time you need.

Try inserting and removing the cart a few dozen times, repeatedly.

This should help clean any gunk and whatnot from your Game Boy's cart contacts.

Doing this seems stupid but it works.

TYLERJOHNS asked for hardware suggestions and stated that he uses LSDJ so I gave him my suggestions for hardware to use with LSDJ in my first post.

Then Rouwe stated that there are more ways to make Chipmusic than a GameBoy so I thought it would be OK to post something about the Kitara.

The Kitara is a killer piece of hardware and it would be an awesome tool for creating electronic/chip-style-music.

I think the Kitara has a place in this thread but anyway...

I'll shut up and not post anything else, I was just trying to be helpful.

I just found out about this - http://www.misadigital.com/index.php?ta … mp;lang=en

Its kind-of like the Yamaha EZ-guitars but newer and more advanced.

Its called a Kitara and its made by a company in Hong Kong called Misa Digital Instruments.

I want one.

This thing would be awesome for making electronic music.

But its way too expensive(at about $1000) and I don't really trust brand new products.

DMG + Flash cart(I use the EMS 64m carts and I've also heavily modified my DMGs)

Pro-Sound mod in an easy first mod to do to your Game Boy, its pretty much essential if you want to record because it reduces unwanted noise and really improves the sound of the recording.

(http://store.kitsch-bent.com/ is where I get my flash carts and I highly recommend Kitsch-bent for their amazing customer service)

Also I would recomend the emulator BGB and you might want to invest some type of controller so you don't have to constantly be using your computer's keyboard.

And also check out this software - http://www.mediafire.com/surfacedragon

I like to write songs with LSDJ using my computer(with BGB and a wired xbox360 controller) because my computer has a large screen that's easy to read and the xbox360 controller is comfortable to navigate LSDJ with. Then I take the LSDJ save file containing the song(or whatever I want to record) and flash it to one of my 64m cartridges so I can record using real hardware.

If you ever need advice/help or custom/modified software don't hesitate to ask, I am a busy person but I'll do my best to help you out.

I just added a new folder called "MN_GameBoy" containing 14 Game Boy ROMs and 2 Game Boy .ips patches to the collection.

(And I also added a GlitchNES_0.2_Hyper-Crack-Mode text document to the MN_GlitchNES_0.2 folder that explains how to get GlitchNES_0.2 to go into Hyper-Crack-Mode.)

And I almost forgot to mention that I'm working on making a collection of my work(stuff that I've either made or modified, like ROMs, patches, how-to guides, and whatnot) availible for you to download for free.

I just added 60 different modified versions of GlitchNES to the collection today and I will be adding a bunch more stuff in the near future.

You can follow the progress of the collection on my "Custom Graphics" Trading Post thread -

http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/4249/custom-graphics/

And follow the link below to get directly to the files -
